“For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac [Christ] shall thy seed be called.” (Romans 9:6-7)

In the world today we have been hearing a lot about the nation of Israel. Whether it is in the political realm or in the religious realm, the nation of Israel has been the center of attention for some time now. Yes, God did establish the physical nation but that is not the true people of God today. The true Israel is the nation that was established by God the Father through the LORD Jesus Christ by His eternal covenant of grace. I am talking about the nation of people that God the Father gave His Son in electing grace and justified them upon the completion of His righteous work that was performed on their behalf at the cross. Apart from Christ, there is not a true nation of Israel. It is just a nation of God-haters just like the nations around them. Christ is the difference in the equation. Scripture says that the true Israelite is one whom Christ has bought with a price unto God the Father, just as Boaz had to pay to redeem Naomi and Ruth, Ruth 4:1-7.These blessings are not the rewards of believing, but are the evidences of His redeeming grace on their behalf. All Spiritual blessings that the believer receives are a direct by-product of the work that Christ has done in his stead. If physical Israel was kept and blessed, it was in view of the coming of the LORD Jesus Christ, God’s true Israel, Gal. 3:6-9 with Isaiah 42:1.
