How can a wicked man be cleansed, from all his sinfulness?
How can he stand before the Lord,
In perfect righteousness?
Repentance cannot cancel guilt, nor faith remove our sin;
No tear can wipe away the stain,
Or make us pure within.
The holy law of God demands, the soul that sins shall die:
How then can any sinner live,
For guilt we can’t deny?
The God of glory magnified His justice, law and grace;
When Jesus suffered on the cross,
And took the sinner’s place.
Since Christ our Savior died for us, the law is satisfied;
It can require no more of Him,
Nor those for whom He died

We will serve the LORD’S SUPPER following the message this morning. We invite all true believers to stay and partake of this memorial ordinance. How do we determined who is and who is not a TRUE believer? The Bible states, “For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, YE DO SHEW THE LORD’S DEATH TILL HE COME. Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, NOT DISCERNING THE LORD’S BODY” (1 Cor. 11:26-29). Discernment of the “Lord’s body” can mean a true, Biblical understanding of that which distinguishes members of the true church as the body of Christ. But such discernment must be made for ourselves and others (to receive them as brethren in Christ)in light of their view of Christ and what He actually accomplished on the cross to save His people from their sins. As stated, in taking the Lord’s Supper we “do shew the Lord’s death till He come.” What was His death all about? His death was all about JUSTICE SATISFIED for His people for whom He was Surety and Substitute. It is about His righteousness which being imputed to them demands their eternal salvation. Those who look upon His death as a token or down-payment, or as a mere attempt to save sinners if they would do their part (whatever that part may be), are not showing forth HIS death, but a figment of their own imaginations. If any could perish for whom Christ died, then God’s justice is destroyed. The Gospel revealed in the body and the blood of Jesus Christ sets forth the righteousness (justice) of God to save His people based on the merits of Christ’s alone. Now, in light of this glorious truth, “let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.” –Pastor Bill Parker
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:17-18)
