Psalms 105:1-5

“O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.

Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;”

God is always so good to give us what we need and to bless us and He has abundantly blessed us here at Mt. Zion! We are to “make known His deeds”, and to “Remember His marvellous works”. Here are some of those deeds and works He has done the last few months at MZBC for which we are so thankful.

1.We had a great Shepherd’s Retreat with over fifty pastors and their wives from around the area and as far as New York and Indiana. The theme was “The Big Picture”. All that attended were encouraged, refreshed, and enjoyed a delicious fare from “Shady Maple Smorgasbord”.

2.Our annual Missions Conference was a great time of fellowship with some missionaries we have supported for years and getting acquainted with new church planters to Delaware. It was like family time around Sunday dinner!

3.Our homeschool co-op, H.E.A.R.T., is in full swing with the theme being “Adding Knowledge”. Two of the nine classes available being Flower Arranging and Small Engines.

4.A band of soulwinners going out on Saturdays to bring in the lost.

5.Souls being saved.

6.Many veterans who have fought for our freedom and still being faithful to God, Family, Country, and Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

7.A verse that describes our Senior Citizens whom we lovingly call Ambassadors is

1 Corinthians 15:58, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” They serve faithfully in Bible Assembly, Visitation, and Choir.

8.Those who work with our children in Sunday School, Children’s Church, Bus Ministry, Master Clubs, and the children’s choir. They are faithful week in and week out to love our children, teach them the Word of the LORD and to help them to love Christ because He “first loved us”.

9.Our cantata, “Christmas at Home” brought visitors and was the culmination of many hours of hard work and was a labor of love by all who were involved.

10.The choir sang at the local mall. Many shoppers stopped to listen and enjoy the Christmas carols being sung; some were even singing along!

I am so thankful to have a church home where the Lord is working and the people are willing to dig in and work and to follow our great God!

Looking to the new year there are many plans to brings visitors in to our church and seek those who are lost, disciple new believers but also this year is special in that we are reaching out to our Judea and planting a new church. God is so good to give us this opportunity to serve Him and care about what He cares for, lost souls!

The Lord cares for the whole year; every high mountain and every low valley.

“But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven: A land which the LORD thy God careth for: the eyes of the LORD thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.” Deut. 11:11-12
