‘Infanticide Bill’: Mass. Dems Back Bill Removing Protections for Babies
Democratic leaders within the Massachusetts legislature say they will take up abortion rights legislation in the coming days that critics say would allow abortion up until the moment of birth and remove the current protections for babies who survive abortion.

Democratic state Rep. Claire Cronin is proposing a 1,500-word amendment to the budget bill that has the support of House leaders and would replace the current laws on abortion – which describes abortion as the “knowing destruction of the life of an unborn child” – with language friendly to abortion rights. Cronin’s bill describes abortion as “any medical treatment intended to induce the termination of” a pregnancy.

More significantly, Cronin’s amendment would expand abortion rights in the state by removing current restrictions on late-term abortions and requirements to protect babies who survive abortion. Massachusetts House Speaker Robert ...

I'm sorry for your loss Colin and realize the flood of emotions your experiencing must be great. You said you fear being castaway. It follows then, that you feel you have to do something from being castaway.

Here's a promise the Son keeps:

John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

The Father gave the Son a commission:

John 6:39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

Here's what Jude had to say:

Jude 1:24-15 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

The Son is charged with the job of preserving that which belonged to the Father and was given to the Son to redeem in time of which none are castaway. Jude says He is able. I agree and I'm inclined to think you do as well. I will keep you in my prayers.

Bro Colin, this booklet helped me greatly.

A guide to the marks of true salvation.

Extract from the booklet, "Seven Certain Signs of True Conversion" by Dr Peter Masters (pastor of Spurgeon's old church in London, the Metropolitan Tabernacle, a 1689 Baptist church).

[Are there recognisable signs that true conversion has occurred? How can seekers tell if God has worked in their hearts? Or how can Christian workers discern the spiritual standing of a seeker or inquirer, or 'test' the standing of an applicant for baptism and church membership?]

[Several passages in the Bible spell out a number of definite signs of conversion which our forebears used to call - 'marks of grace'. 1 John for example, lists these marks so clearly that Bible commentators have described the main points of this epistle as 'the tests of life'. John says emphatically that we may know that we truly know Him by certain evidences (1 John 2.3). Romans 8 also describes several clear signs and indications of conversion.]

This one, small booklet, is capable of lighting up your life with joy and peace in believing.

Colin, I second sister MS's recommendation of Scott Price, I have talked with him personally, read his writings, listened to his preaching, it is Christ centered Gospel of grace preaching. The Gospel is 'good news', it points the sinner to Christ, not to self, not to feelings, emotions, shortcomings, etc. The Gospel reveals the righteousness of God- Romans 1:17. This righteousness comes through the finished work of Christ alone, it reveals He has completed the work necessary to save His people, thus satisfying the Father's demand of law and justice. This is how God can justify the guilty, because of Christ's work. Smoking cigarettes will NOT keep you from heaven, unbelief will. Being saved isn't based on your performance, it's based on the obedience of Another. Remember what Paul said in Romans 7 concerning doing what he doesn't want to do and not doing as he should, and that *no good thing dwells in him*- let that sink in.
He cried out 'oh wretched man that I am, who will deliver me from this body of death? Christ Jesus! Please consider contacting Scott Price at [email protected]

Usually when I hear of a Christian questioning his salvation it's when he's put his Bible on the shelf and fills his mind with other stuff that steals peace and faith. Get back to the Bible, get into your prayer closet, and stay close to God for a time. Turn off that which distracts you and turns your head. The enemy will put shiny distracting things in your life to pull you away from your First Love. If you're saved, and you know you are, no one will be able to convince you otherwise. If you base your salvation on a prayer you've prayed at a church somewhere, then you have all the reason in the world to question your salvation. If you know that God visited you and brought you low regarding your sin and you know you've been broken by the justice of an angry God, then you will know for a fact that it was through God you were saved, and not a well-worded prayer. Get alone with Him in prayer and worship. This will refresh you and fill you with fait

Well Colin, it sounds to me like you are an introspective person who realized just how short we all fall. Holiness is something all Christians will seek, but I also realize just how short I fall. But, if we are in Christ Jesus, the below applies.

Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

He will declare you and all of your brothers and sisters, JUSTIFIED.

Hello Colin and welcome to the club of the broken and needy. As I mentioned to another yesterday, we are all sinners. Everyone one of us is totally undeserving of God's grace and totally deserving of His wrath. That being said, God saved us and blanketed us with His Son's perfect righteousness. We are sinless in His eyes, remember that. Does that give us a blank cheque to sin as we please? No, of course not, but it frees us up to serve Him and rely on His continual grace and mercy to get by day to day. Our victories don't come from resisting temptation, but through falling on our knees before Him and begging for mercy and strength. This is when God shines His brightest. If we have victory after victory, then what need have we of God's grace? Be encouraged brother, you are no different than any of us. Don't let the devil fill your mind with doubt and fear. If you have been saved by God's grace then rest in that fact. One day you will be separated from your sin man, and then you will rejoice!

Obeying the GOSPEL is what it takes. Did Christ pay it all or didn't He? IF He did, and HE DID, then why look to 'self', which is still sinful? Why expect improvement when one is still in the flesh? As stated, we strive against our flesh by HIS power, gratitude is the motive, NOT assurance/evidence/meritorial proof. What is it to obey the Gospel? It is to trust in HIS work, not His plus yours. The mind is so conditioned to look to self, only God can grant 'repentance from dead works' that 'leads to a knowledge of truth'. What truth? That Christ has 'finished' the work, that HE ALONE is the propitiation/satisfaction for the sins of the elect, that He has 'put away sin' by HIS obedience unto death, even the death of the cross.Phil. 2:8. Salvation is by GRACE, never grace plus what you do. Evidence of salvation is that you keep looking to Christ, keep trusting in His work for the redemption of your soul. As long as you are in this earthly body, you are STILL a sinner, and in your flesh dwells NO GOOD THING- Romans 7:18. It all starts with believing the Gospel that has power to save, within this Gospel the righteousness of God is revealed- Romans 1:16,17. THIS is the righteousness you MUST have, it is imputed, and doesn't include your works....
May God give ears to hear.

Here is the 'theme' of the dead religion that permeates the globe, "You neither believe in the irresistible grace of God, nor do you have it in your heart, or you would **behave** somewhat differently ." MOST equate 'salvation' with behavior, conditions, a 'check list' of dos and don'ts. Salvation is manifest by what YOU do, how YOU behave, act, walk, talk, etc. Herein lies one of many errors of the legalist/lordshipper, conditionalist,Calvinist,Reformed, etc. They always, always look 'inward' for assurance and evidence.
The elect look to Christ, never to 'self'. We KNOW we are STILL sinners, we 'confess' our sins and He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. Yes, **we strive against the flesh, but NOT as a means of proving salvation or earning merit, for God ONLY sees the finished work of Christ**. It is a deep gratitude for our Savior that motivates us, and even that is from Him, the revelation of Christ in the heart is the difference between that which is false- the great harlot of all religion- and the true, living Jehovah God. The great harlot always points the sinner to 'self', to performance based meritorial actions to prove one is 'truly saved'. But, the true saint is like the tax collector, 'Lord, be merciful to me...a sinner'...

No, John, I don’t believe in irresistible grace for the simple reason that it is not only not taught in the Bible, but is in fact disproven by the Bible. As for the light you imagine you shine, it must be in some remote corner of the world. It sure as heck isn’t on Sermon Audio.

There are a few bad apples in the Republican Party who are really Democrats because they support abortion, homosexuality and homosexual marriage. But the majority of those in the Republican Party adhere to the Republican Party platform by being against abortion, homosexuality and homosexual marriage. So if the Republican Party platform is against abortion, homosexuality and homosexual marriage then the Republican Party is the party of Jesus and not evil. The Democratic Party is evil and the party of Satan.

The vast majority of Republican politicians adhere to the platform of the Republican Party by being against abortion, homosexuality and homosexual marriage.
