Jerry Falwell Jr. to receive $10.5 million in compensation for resigning from Liberty University
Jerry Falwell, Jr., the former president of Liberty University, will receive a $10.5 million compensation package from the evangelical school, he told CNN.
Falwell, who resigned late Monday after a series of scandals, said he will receive about $2.5 million during the next two years and another $8 million thereafter. As the university's president and chancellor, Falwell was paid about $1.25 million per year.
Falwell, 58, told The Washington Post his Liberty contract entitles him to the severance package because he is departing the school without being formally accused of or admitting to wrongdoing....
Michael Warren wrote: ....Politically homeless in the 1970s, evangelicals and social conservatives organized under Falwell's Moral Majority. The broad religious right was a critical part of Ronald Reagan's "three-legged stool" that also included anti-Communist hawks and fiscal conservatives.
That place in the GOP coalition strengthened over the next few decades, with Republicans delivering on agenda items like conservative judges, restrictions on abortion and defense of religious institutions.
But social conservatives and evangelical leaders maintained a conditional relationship with the Republican Party. At a closed-door meeting in 1998, the New York Times reported at the time, Focus On the Family founder James Dobson told his fellow social conservatives that if the GOP continued to "betray" evangelical voters on social issues like homosexuality and sex education funding that he would leave the party and "do everything I can to take as many people with me as possible."...

Trump has reduced that three-legged stool, into a one-legged one - - which consists of him. White evangelicals don't have a leg to stand on!

Leaders are not – truly are not people who operate for personal fulfillment or personal gain. People who do that wind up leading nobody, because everybody abandons them. Leaders are people surrounded by gifted, capable, diligent, successful people who stay around that leader because they see that all of his energies and all of his abilities enhance their lives and their successes.... .... ....The first thing about a leader, he’s trusted. I don’t know how I can emphasize this too strongly - I don’t think I can – anybody in any position of leadership will succeed insofar as people trust them with their lives, with their futures, with their money, with whatever. Nothing can take the place of this. Nothing.
That’s why, in this country, it’s so sad to have a leader you can’t trust. That’s not leadership at all.... Someone who is consumed with his own interests, his own desires, his own personal ambitions driving everything is no leader at all. ....

Well Well!! Crime/sin pays in the Liberalist religion!!
Mammon looks after his own in the fallen world.
Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." Guess which one Falwell hates?
This case, along with the NRA corruption and the Wounded Warriors case, make you wonder whether you are wasting $$ by giving it to any group or organization, despite what certifications they may hold. Like that verse, because of the wickedness of some, the love of many has grown cold.
Ephesians 5:3-5 But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints; nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not appropriate, but rather giving of thanks. Know this for sure, that no sexually immoral person, nor unclean person, nor covetous man (who is an idolater), has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God.
