Temperatures in Death Valley skyrocketed to a blistering 130 degrees on Sunday — possibly the highest mercury reading on Earth since 1913.
If the National Weather Service's recording is correct, it would also be among the top-three highest temperatures to have ever been measured in Death Valley, as well as the highest temperature ever seen there during the month of August.
The temperature in Death Valley hit 130 degrees at 3:41 p.m. Sunday, the National Weather Service said in a tweet.
You mean it was 130 there before the Chevrolet Suburban or any other SUV were created? Well, there were the famous 'Woody's' that were kinda like an early SUV. And what about 200 yrs ago or 300 yrs ago? Was anyone measuring temperatures with the same accurate instruments we use today? It's like Flood Insurance Maps. They are based on 25-yr storms, or 100-yr storms when the track of measuring is less than 100 yrs for many areas. How can you determine how bad an area flooded for once in 100 yrs when you haven't been there 100yrs? You could accurately tell 10 or 25 yr flood maps, but then, the land has changed in those years, so the way the land drains has changed. How can you determine how much flooding that will cause? Every new parking lot, every new driveway or garage built, even every patio or pool affects how much water goes into the ground. Take a block of houses with an unpaved alley and no garages in back, change that to paving the alley and adding garages to half the houses, well, then you have more runoff and flooding.
Yes and somewhere in the World is the coldest its been since 1910... Here in Victoria we had the coldest may day on record if i remember correctly. Its called weather... Below is a good channel to subscribe too https://youtu.be/06rsq_OU7tA
Bad time to be an automobile field-test engineer. According to author Mary Walton, Death Valley is a favorite destination of carmakers for stress-testing new models. Car magazine paparazzi know this.
I was under the impression that really hot temperatures in Death Valley in July is typical. But with the global warming crown needing a psych boost lately, it's not surprising that typical becomes newsworthy.
"...possibly the highest mercury reading on Earth since 1913." Does this prove that the earth is cooling since it took 87 years to reach 130 degrees again, which is not the highest recorded temperature on record?
One might think the "Highest Recorded Temperature" record would be uncontroversial, but as with so many other truth claims, it's complicated: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highest_temperature_recorded_on_Earth
You gotta wonder how much experience it takes to read a thermometer in a "verifiable" way. Or is it an exercise in herd psychology?
To me, this is yet another example of how subjective empirical science actually is, as explained here: www.trinityfoundation.org/journal.php?id=19
Screen recording software can use to record anything shown on the device screen and then users have the freedom to create a movie along with audio narration. Good point, YIA. Hope you and your fiance are well, Brother.
Psalm 92 applies perhaps. Sometimes the wicked seem to prosper. But they tend do so like grass, which springs up today everywhere and is burned up tomorrow. The Lord has limits for the wicked and for wicked nations, seen in His treatment of the Caananites. Perhaps the Lord is displaying less tolerance for Calfornia than for other places? Or maybe we domt play as close attention when those other places arent so close to home?
10. “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11. The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. 12. I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.’ 13. But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’ 14. I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.â€
1 Corinthians 5:11-13
11. But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler--not even to eat with such a one. 12. For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church? 13. But those who are outside, God judges. Remove the wicked man from among yourselves. --- https://tinyurl.com/has82mk (NASB)
It is interesting that you should notice this Quiet Christian. My family is from California originally, and we have seen it firsthand and agree with your statement wholeheartedly.
Luke 16:23-24 KJV (23)Â And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. (24)Â And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
It is interesting that California is experiencing some strange and extreme weather. With the dry lightning strikes, extreme heat, and fires along with rolling blackouts, one would think the Lord is getting after California. Of course, the Progressives will blame it on human activity fueling global warming. The worse the California government acts, the worse the state seems to take a beating. Reminds me of a verse:
And men boiled in great heat, and blasphemed the Name of God, which hath power over these plagues, and they repented not to give him glory. - Revelation 16:9
