With thousands of schools across the country moving to partial or full remote learning in the fall, parents are racing to form small at-home schooling groups or ‚Äúpandemic pods,‚ÄĚ groups of children who will be taught together. Some parents are hiring teachers to help guide the students through remote learning, while others plan to devise lesson plans on their own.
But finding a place to host the mini schools is proving to be a challenge. Even for parents that have the space, hosting students inside seems iffy because of social-distancing guidelines. Plus, many parents are working from home and don’t want the distraction....
This concept is one that some families have employed thru the lock downs by including a handful of other families who stuck together to maintain some sort of social engagement. HSLDA calls this homeschooling.
Parents have to balance the needs of their children. One of those needs is social engagement. Another is to be kept safe from disease through reasonable means. So parents may choose to balance these needs by limiting their engagement to their pod or clique. That makes sense. What doesn't make sense is allowing their children to run rampid through the street carousing with who knows, rioting, terrorizing, and burning, attacking the police. And then we wonder why they have COVID-19?

Also there is no telling what aftereffects there can be from this virus for children, e.g.,
