In echo of Mao era, China's schools in book-cleansing drive
As schools reopened in China after the COVID-19 outbreak, they have thrown themselves into a nationwide exercise to remove books deemed politically incorrect, deepening Chinese President Xi Jinping’s push to instil patriotism and ideological purity in the education system.

A directive from the Ministry of Education last October called on elementary and middle schools to clear out books from their libraries including “illegal” and “inappropriate” works. Now teachers have removed books from schools in at least 30 of mainland China’s 33 provinces and municipalities, according to a Reuters review of social media posts, publicly available school and local government documents, and interviews with teachers.

From western Gansu province to Shanghai, the review of publicly announced measures pointed to books being cleared by the hundreds of thousands. ...

An independent baptist church is an option. But, often are led by a pastor OT 40 plus years and bequeaths his pulpit to his knucklehead son. But there are sound churches in the IFB and SBC realm, as well.

Hang in there, Wayfarer. I feel the same way, being a conservative presbyterian. The PCA has lost its moorings, the OPC has never appealed to me, and we're not psalm-singers. The BPC is not present here, and they have issues too. I love my Baptist brothers, and have thought about jumping ship to that camp.

You are right. As these bodies of churches slide faster and faster toward the cliff, those whom we felt we were in close fellowship may well be gone. Can't put our trust in man.

The woke generation has tipped over statues and books, bibles and churches with be next. Be careful, they are conquering and dividing give the current stupidity leading the SBC. When a few pastors wanted to establish a “ conservative “ brand of the SBC, JD Greer sneered off a comment on how the SBC was always conservative. The ground will open up and swallow some folks whole.

The PC Liberalists would love to be able to do this here in the west.

And give them their due they are trying very hard to achieve this end.

Look at the Liberalist religion "churches" - their brand of religion is gradually eliminating Bible doctrines so that man can keep his sinful ways.
For example the satanic oxymoron term "gay-christian"

Satan seems to be pushing very hard in the nations today.

2Cor 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."

The Cultural Revolution 2.0 continues. Sounds like schools and libraries in Hong Kong are doing similar.

Unfortunately, China exported the Cultural Revolution concept to the West. We're in the beginning stages of such an effort here in the US.
