Televangelists, Dallas megachurch that hosted Pence approved for millions in pandemic aid
A Dallas megachurch whose pastor has been a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump was approved for a forgivable loan worth $2 million to $5 million, according to long-awaited government data released on Monday.
Vice President Mike Pence spoke at a rally last month at the First Baptist Church of Dallas, whose pastor, Robert Jeffress, has been on Trump's evangelical advisory board.
It was among the tens of thousands of religious organizations that received a total of $7.3 billion in pandemic aid from the Small Business Administration....
I disagree with the idea that FBD is a mega church, so my first question is- what is the definition of a mega church to the author? Having gone to a career enhancement class that FBD offered, I know first hand that this church offers valuable services and am convinced the church will use the $ fruitfully and The Lord will be glorified. There are several other churches in the DFW area whose attendance and membership exceeds 10,000 normally who would waste this $ on their own bureaucracy.

The evangelical church in America has run after Baal- I simply do not see any of this ending well. It appears that salami slicing is not just for the Chinese communists. Incremental steps to take away liberty for a price is alarming. My church accepted Covid salary protect. The federal government offered Covid salary protection in a very brief window. Meaning, churches had 72 hours to respond to a request and completion in a brief moment, We weren’t behind in bills, we had money to pay staff for over a year, budget was met and yet the financial committee felt if offered we needed to take the money less Covid start peeling away members.
