US Evangelical Lutherans publish handbook on gender identity to welcome the LGBTQIA+
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) has published a handbook on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression to âaffirm Godâs love for people of all sexual orientations and gender identities,â the Christian Post reports. The publication is part of an ELCA effort to welcome and include members of the LGBTQIA+ community to all aspects of church life.
Written by Lutheran Ministry ReconcilingWorks, the handbook asserts: âMany LGBTQIA+ people have learned by experience that they are not truly welcome in church, even in churches that state: âAll are welcome here!â...
Poor Luther must be rolling over in his grave! What an oxymoron--Evangelical Lutheran! What big evangelical campaigns have they sponsored? Who is their Big Name Evangelist with TV program, radio, podcast, website? I wish these reports would also include a description like this...The Evangelical Lutheran denomination ranks 10th in size in the USA, and their membership has been declining by double-digit percentages for the past ...yrs.
The Quiet Christian wrote: I don't have a big problem with welcoming sinners who need Jesus, but I do have a problem with affirming their sin.
Perfectly said brother!
I have a Lutheran church very close to me that puts billboards up welcoming the homosexual/transsexual community and telling them their lifestyles are okay with God. They can worship there, be married there and they can be church leaders.
Only the Lord can save them from their sick and demented thoughts.
