Denver public schools unanimously votes to cut ties with police
The Denver Public Schools Board of Education voted Thursday night to remove student resource officers from campuses, thus ending the district’s contract with the Denver Police Department.

The resolution was approved unanimously.

It calls on the board and superintendent to reduce the number of school resource officers in district schools by 25 percent by the end of 2020 and to terminate DPS’ contract with DPD for services of school resource officers by the end of next school year.

Maybe if another wacko enters a gun-free school zone to do harm, instead of calling police, the teachers will peacefully offer him a bowl of granola. After all, he just wants to be loved, and acting out by killing students is just a cry for help.

Wow considering all the school shootings and that fact that Columbine happened there it’s insane for them to do that. I just hope the Lord is coming soon. Everything is unraveling and I don’t foresee it improving.

There is a power vacuum in our nation. It’s much like when Saddam Hussein was hung, that’s when the freak show started.
The all our branches of government are personallity driven . It has been since John F Kennedy was elected. America is a fickle, spoiled unscrupulous nation. The adults are in cemeteries and the kids have been running the show ever since.

Agreement here too.. its no different in our circle of friends when we are ignorant and some dont agree, we make them feel unwanted. Reproving hurts. No different when we were children when we dont like the other kid we hit the smaller kid with our toy. So when we are adults we dont do that generally but manipulate to injure. But when we have too much power we tend to go to far.Like 1 elders.or one pope .. Prefering the other is hard to do in the Spirit if our flesh is not put under.

WP, good questions about whether there will be a school year starting this August/September, so...do the current teachers still get a paycheck for running classes online? Sounds much easier than dealing with all the discipline problems and traffic.
Let's see if there are any reporters willing to dig into the data to see if more teachers are retiring. I was thinking that anyone who lives close to a public school has just seen their property value decline by at least ten percent.
Just like in Mnpls, U-Haul and other moving companies are getting a lot of new business, I bet.
Now,

If I were a teacher in Denver, I’d think real quick and either move out of Colorado or retire. With all the Covid spikes and governors opening schools in august , I believe school shootings will be an everyday sport.
The liberal mind is senseless and depraved.
And the one thing no one is saying is in all these shootings or choking out suspects is how many are intoxicated or high on dope. Floyd had fetynal
and meth in his system , enough to cause a profound intoxication. How you deal with someone who is intoxicated or high on dope , doesn’t end well for anyone.

I'm wondering how this anti-police attitude would have changed anything in the case involving the black high school student in Central Florida, shot and killed by the Hispanic guy Zimmerman. Police were not involved at all. Z. was a local crime-watch guy, so if there are no police, then you will see more of these folk on the streets, with very little training on use of guns.
How do you like them apples?

The Politically Correct Liberalist pandemic is becoming even more stupid.

This is not how you teach children how to organize society properly.
