Church puts bishop on trial for following Bible on marriage
A US bishop has continued to defend the biblical position on sex and marriage during a disciplinary hearing, where he stands accused of âfailing to conformâ to the Episcopal Churchâs backing for same-sex marriage.
The Bishop of Albany, William Love, is accused of breaking his ordination vows by showing âunwillingness to abide by Resolution B012â â which stipulates that bishops must permit same-sex weddings to take place in their diocese.
The 2018 resolution says that if a bishop disagrees with same-sex marriage, they must invite another bishop to do so instead, but Bishop Love responded by stating that same-sex unions are âin direct conflict and contradiction to Godâs intentâ for marriage....
The might be a chance this bishop wants to be kicked out or held on trial by the Grand Pooh Bah of the Episcopal church. The church is cleansed by the blood of the martyrs, but since that hasnât happened since Thomas Becket , weâll just say the Bishop is about to be fired.
The Holy Spirit notes not barns1 Timothy 4 (KJV) ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¹ Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; ² Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; ³ Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. Jim make sure you have the right Jesus is imperative . I say this in Love... Forbidding to marry. My children understand this, simply. Those seared with a hit iron will explain it away. Only one church does this practice. Also teach only to eat fish on a certain day where does this teaching come from Holy Spirit notes doctrine of devils...
Episcopalianism is Catholic Liteğ â1 Tim 4:3. 'Forbidding to marry. That is, "They will depart from the faith through the hypocritical teaching--of those who forbid to marry." 1Thes 4:2. This does not necessarily mean that they would prohibit marriage altogether, but that it would be a characteristic of their teaching that marriage would be forbidden, whether of one class of persons or many. They would commend and enjoin celibacy and virginity. They would regard such a state, for certain persons, as more holy than the married condition, and would consider it as so holy that they would absolutely prohibit those who wished to be most holy from entering into the relation. It is needless to say how accurately this applies to the views of the Papacy in regard to the comparative purity and advantages of a state of celibacy, and to their absolute prohibition of the marriage of the clergy. The tenth article of the decree of the Council of Trent, in relation to marriage, will show the general view of the Papacy on that subject.--" Whosoever shall say that the married state is to be preferred to a state of virginity, or celibacy, and that it is not better and more blessed to remain in virginity, or celibacy, than to be joined in marriage; let him be accursed!"'...Barnes NT Notes
Episcopalian and Anglican bishops and vicars usually are married, the exception being some Anglican clergy from the Anglo-Catholic sections of the church that are members of Anglican monastic orders (there are not very many of these), and of course bishops and clergy whose wives have died, and who have not remarried.
I think that watchmanremo is thinking of the Western Roman Catholic Church, where clerical celibacy is still the rule, though Eastern rite Catholic clergy can be married at the lower levels, (same as Eastern Orthodox), if done before ordination, but not widowed clergy, and not bishops who are usually chosen from monastic celibate clergy.
Going back to this brave Episcopalian bishop, who sounds like an Evangelical, my advice to him, and any of his diocesan clergy, that support his stand, is to leave the Episcopal Church, en masse with their congregations, and break away. They will have to leave their buildings behind, but I think the Episcopal Church disciplinary committee will definitely go against him.
I wonder if the minister is married him self. Pity one church forces thier minters to not marry to then turn to pedophilia and become like adam and steve.. Better to marry eve than the other abomination. This guy should and THOSE in that other harlot church come out from amoung them and recieve not her plauges
4. And He answered and said, âHave you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, 5. and said, âFor this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one fleshâ? 6. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.â --- https://tinyurl.com/has82mk (NASB)
Apparently, the bishop made a serious mistake-- as far as the Episcopal Churchis concerned-- and read the above verses on marriageâğ
