Roberts joins court's liberals to deny California church's lockdown challenge
A sharply divided Supreme Court late Friday turned aside a church's urgent plea that California's coronavirus lockdown orders are putting an unconstitutional burden on religious freedom.
Chief Justice John Roberts sided with the court's liberals in rejecting a San Diego church's request for relief from Gov. Gavin Newsom's most recent directive limiting churches to 25% of their normal maximum capacity, with an absolute maximum of 100 people at any service.
In a three-page opinion issued just before the stroke of midnight Washington time, Roberts said it would be unwise for the court to intervene on an emergency basis as state officials try to grapple with the ebb and flow of a pandemic caused by a highly infectious and sometimes deadly virus....

I have had that happen to me periodically over the years. If SA blocks something, they say they have blocked it. When that has happened to me, I simply re-post it.

As deplorable as the measures are or have been, the church needed them, nevermind their pastors.
However, as any trial brings out godliness for those walking in the path of righteousness, noticeable are the pastors that are flourishing in the midst of the crisis bearing lasting fruit, while the genuine God-fearing flock bask in fresher pastures relieved from the stinging parasites of churchianity usually inflicted by hirelings, professors and twickers of the book.
I believe that the riots are God’s judgement on your nation for closing the doors of its church buildings. Just my opinion but if you blokes had all gone to church anyway, your Supreme Court would never have allowed the ruling that refusing to allow the church to worship was legal. I know your constitution says that you have the right to peaceably assemble. You had the most religious freedom of any nation. You *ruined” everything up by letting them push you around. The church (which is the people, remember that) allowed the government to control them. You will likely not get those freedoms you had completely back. You were massively blessed by God but you gave those blessings up without a fight. Very few even had a go at standing up for their rights. Just my opinion so no hate please. Also I’m not judging anyone, I just think it’s sad. Honour God and he will honour you. The American church obeyed man rather than God. Maybe this is their wake up call.
