NC judge sides with churches, blocks Gov. Cooper’s restrictions on indoor services
A federal judge in North Carolina issued an order Saturday to allow indoor worship services, blocking Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper’s enforcement of restrictions on churches during the coronavirus pandemic.

“The record, at this admittedly early stage of the case, reveals that the Governor appears to trust citizens to perform non-religious activities indoors (such as shopping or working or selling merchandise) but does not trust them to do the same when they worship together indoors,” stated Judge James C. Dever III, according to The Associated Press. ...

My mistake about the gov of NC. It's the judge in this case showing sense. As for Cuomo, he's quite popular with folks who don't know him, but get their false info from the msm. We see him as an actor. A bad actor, because he required hospitals to send nursing home patients back to the nursing homes, once stabilized but before being cleared of the virus. Thousands of them have since died. Compare our nursing home data with Florida, where there are huge numbers of elderly. Deal with what's real occasionally, Jim. It's good for you.

Thanks for pointing out the stark difference between Oregon and North Carolina's approach, Jim. Looks like the governor of Oregon sees herself as Oregon's Mommy, while the governor of NC sees himself as the governor. At least he gets it.

Good setting for states rights anyway

'“Following swift action by the Oregon Supreme Court, my emergency orders to protect the health and safety of Oregonians will remain in effect statewide while the court hears arguments in this lawsuit," Brown said in a statement after the court's ruling. "From the beginning of this crisis, I have worked within my authority, using science and data as my guide, heeding the advice of medical experts. This strategy has saved lives and protected Oregonians from the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic."'

A reasonably good response, QC, and I can agree with most of it. As I said , it is an inalienable right for an American to act incredibly stupid. My financial responsibilities are being taken care of by me. But still,

"Your Liberty To Swing Your Fist Ends Just Where My Nose Begins"--- John B. Finch

A favorite quote by prohibitionists by the way.

Yes, Jim, Americans have the right to ignore so-called expert advice to pursue that which they feel is important. My mask & my social distance don't protect me. The Lord may use them as His instruments, but He is the one that healeth all tht diseases. He is our fortress and strong tower. His worship has been set aside for a time but must be restored. It is not for you to determine when a church in Greenville, NC, where the virus is low, decides to open up her doors. That right of decision and action has been temporarily restored.

In general, Americans are free to make their own decisions. If you choose to keep your nose home and covered, that's your business and no one ought to have a word to long as you are meeting your financial responsibilities.

"Nearly 200 possibly exposed to coronavirus at service that violated stay-at-home orders"---

It's an American's right to act incredibly stupid❗👎

One has to wonder though what happened to that old saying, " Your right ends at the end of the other person's nose" in modern terms, especially if you're going to introduce a whole bunch of viruses into that nose.
