The spread of the coronavirus is a brutal reminder of just how fragile humans are, a direct and uncomfortable challenge to our collective illusion of control. As it spreads, not only are individual lives threatened, but also the intricate and fragile web of global connections that fuel national and international economies. To ask Godâs help in all of this shouldnât be controversial at all.
Thatâs exactly what Vice-President Mike Pence decided to do. An official White House photo from February 26 captured the Vice-President and the Coronavirus Task Force opening their meeting with heads bowed in prayer. The photo, as they say nowadays, blew up the Internet, unleashing a tidal wave of âprayer shaming,â a term coined a couple of years ago to describe ridiculing people who dare offer their âthoughts and prayersâ for the victims of tragedies like mass shootings.
Now, Jim, we all know your cries of "Dominionism!" are all red herrings. We all recognize whom you claim to be "Dominionists" are those who disagree with crowd-sourced, community-consensus morality and Progressive/Socialist agendas. The Lord made us, sustains us, and retains the right rule over us as Soveriegn. If so, then He gets to make the concepts of what is right and what is wrong. He is the God of the entire Bible.
Jim, now is the acceptable time to make peace with Him through faith in Jesus. Now is the acceptable time to bow your knee and make Him your king. Now is the time, Jim. All of us pray the Lord will change your heart.
Jim, Solomon must have had a prophetic vision of your life when he wrote, âThe way of a fool is right in his own eyes...â I try to never write anyone off as being hopeless, but you are definitely pushing the envelope.
Gentleman, when are you going to start complaining when I use the words, "the", "and" or "sin"
Cross posting? John of UK, even when I use the same source for various posts I try not to use the same material from that source. Because I know Timothy gets worked up about that.
Timothy, complaints about Bible verses even if they were the same two?
I probably use several quite often, for example,
Romans 8 7 because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so; 8 and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.---http://www.lockman.org/nasb/nasbcmp.php (NASB)
But even with those I often don't use the same version of the Bible just to give you more variety.
Even if a thread doesn't have to do is that hoary KJV topic, I usually don't complain about people using that.
I'm sorry to say that the Dominionists on here do not get the message, hence the repeating of some Bible verses. Ah, even complaining about Bible verses nowâđ
Yes, very good article indeed. The irony is that God deniers that worship science are the same people that will call a male a female and a female a male; and call babies just a clump of cells like an appendix or parasites.

John MacArthur wrote: God is sovereign and can choose to answer any prayer He sees fit. But Scripture clearly indicates that God does not listen to or answer every prayer. In fact, Scripture gives at least fifteen reasons for unanswered prayer. God does not answer the prayer of those: 1) Who have personal and selfish motives. 2) Who regard iniquity in their hearts. 3) Who remain in sin. 4) Who offer unworthy service to God. 5) Who forsake God. 6) Who reject God's call. 7) Who will not heed God's law. 8) Who turn a deaf ear to the cry of the poor. 9) Who are violent. 10) Who worship idols. 11) Who have no faith. 12) Who are living in hypocrisy. 14) Who are self-righteous. 15) Who mistreat God's people.
excerpt from, "Does God answer the prayers of unbelievers?"
16. By their fruits you will know them. Do you gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles? 17. Even so, every good tree produces good fruit, but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit.
Very good chance the Vice President understands the magnitude of this virus. If they are having to cremate both the dead victims and animals by the thousands in China, Iranâs morgues are full because Islamic law prohibits cremation, then, Pense praying may be our only hope in finding a treatment for high risk patients. There are no atheists in foxholes.
Once again, the news world is moved by social media, by clicks on the computer or smartphone. Reality, reasoning does not matter. First thing to remember is that Obama attended a church for many years, you know the one where the preacher desired the destruction of this country (kinda like rioting, burning cars in your own neighborhood--what does that prove? that rich white folk will not invest any $$ in your area anymore). I'm sure Slick Willie Clinton had many meetings where prayer was done, but few people, especially the liberal media that was more concerned about making him look good, was not going to notice. Every President has made ceremonial prayers at all kinds of events without any objections.
