Taylor Swift Rips Politician Campaigning on Biblical Marriage
Netflix recently released a documentary following Taylor Swift as she writes her Lover album, muses about breaking away from the image created early in her career and discusses her decision to step into the political arena in 2018.
With Swift’s mother arguing that the men should read what she has written, Swift passionately argues “I don’t care if they write that.” She explains to the men that “it really is a big deal to me.” She then went on to describe her disgust with Blackburn’s policies and consistent appeal to her Christian faith. Swift passionately said, “I can’t see another commercial and see [Marsha Blackburn] disguising these policies behind the words “Tennessee Christian values.” She continued, “Those aren’t Tennessee Christian values. I live in Tennessee. I’m a Christian. That’s not what we stand for.”
Swift went on to endorse Bresden, who lost to Blackburn in the November 2018...
I believe it was Anthony Hopkins who said actors are really rather stupid ( he included himself). A broader brush could also be stated celebrities are rather stupid. Poor Taylor Swift- she’s always yearning for importance. She’s like a lot of phenoms , Swift, Gomez, Jenner, and Baldwin. Marriage and children- so much more fulfilled would young people be instead of instanap , face book, and magically showing up to talk about their “ struggles “.
Yes I take your correction this is what I meant.Probably was a typo. It is popular today to stand up to the popular world opinion and be praised for it but there is a day coming when we all will stand before a Righteous God and He will have the final say. Thank you for the correction.
Colin wrote: People are forgetting that there is a Great Judgment to come and then it will be only them and God Almighty. No audience to pamper to for greater adulation and publicity.
you mean no audience to Pander to ..... it's pandering not pampering ....
pan·der verb gratify or indulge (an immoral or distasteful desire, need, or habit or a person with such a desire, etc.). "newspapers are pandering to people's baser instincts" Taylor Swift panders to her audience. if she pampered them, she would buy them a new car or take them on vacation or take them to a spa or shopping ....
Taylor says “Those aren’t Tennessee Christian values. I live in Tennessee. I’m a Christian. That’s not what we stand for.”
I feel for these young celebrities who are so confused about what "true love" is. Her statement puts her church and her pastor in the limelight too. Do they agree with her? Or, if they do not, will they take the time to take her aside and teach her the truth in love?
"It is a true saying, in which all may put their faith, that Christ Jesus came into the world to give salvation to sinners, of whom I am the chief: (1Ti 1:15)"
There is no healing or remedy without there first being a correct diagnosis. It would do no one a good service to tell someone who has a fatal disease that, not only are they of good health, but to say that what they have and are practicing is to their benefit. What manner of love is that? Taylor is right to come against those who demonize the sick and lack compassion to lead them to the Physician. That's the argument that James makes when he says "faith without works is dead."
