Please Adriel don’t judge all Scots by one lying in the gutter, I do agree that the grip that alcohol can hold on a person is like being in a prison cell with no key ( almost ) and it has ruined many a good life in Scotland. Thanks be to God that He has set free many from that cell. There is no doubt that this nationalism fronted by the SNP is not good for us as a nation . There are still those in our nation who love and seek to live God,’s word and we trust Him who alone really governs “ all nations shall come and worship Him “ Ps86
Psalm 2 reminds us that even our rulers if they don’t kiss the Son they will perish. Even this week one of our rulers resigned over his life style choices. God sets one up and casts another down and still He wants and commands us to pray for them who are in authority. May the name of Jesus Christ be highly exalted this day just think of great number of people we are part of every nation etc. God bless all the nations of the earth.
Forgive me Lord, I have all but abandoned these corrupt immoral politicians too their fate, as the consistently reject the Christian message and actively discriminate against Scripture, and against Preachers trying yo book a venue to preach the Gospel, but venues pressured to reject and cancel F Graham bookings. Let Glasgow Flourish By The Preaching of His Word And Praising Of His Name, One time our proud city motto, now all but abandoned.
May God in Heaven Have mercy on their corrupt souls. Tis folks is Nationalism in Scotland today
I looked up the alcohol consumption and Scotland is only included under Great Britain at 12 liters per capita (I suppose that does not include children). Many other countries rank much higher, like Belarus in 1st place with 17.6, Moldova with 16.8, Lithuania with 15.5, Russia with 15.1 Now the US ranks lower at 9.2 liters but that is still an amazing amount. It works out to be a 12-pack of 12 oz beers every week. And if most of the readers of SA are not drinkers, well, someone else is picking up the slack to keep these numbers that high. It makes you wonder about going out at night in a car.
Scotland has always been notorious for its alcohol consumption.
When I was in the navy we put in at Gibraltar. As we walked up the main street we saw a fellow lying on the side of the road inebriated. One of the lads with me said jokingly I wonder if he is a Scot. So we asked him as we got near. And true to form, sadly, his answer came back with a strong Scottish lilt to it.
Today Scotland's 'Federalist' 'SNP' (?) is trying to separate us from one of the most successful country's in history - Britain. Wonder if alcohol has anything to do with that bad judgment?
What next, free prostitutes for sex offenders? Free cocaine for druggies Weaning off works up to a point, taking them through ‘cold turkey’ with love, works too in a measure. So, on my way to the pub, I stop off for some free wine to start, lowering my drinks bill for the night.
