Trump proclaims National Sanctity of Human Life Day on 47th anniversary of Roe v. Wade
President Donald Trump has proclaimed Jan. 22 as National Sanctity of Human Life Day.

Released yesterday, the official proclamation notes that according to the latest available analysis tracking the relevant data and trends, the number of abortions continues to decrease in recent years as has the rate of teen pregnancies.

The proclamation documents the policy moves the administration has made since the president took office, notes the philosophical direction the United States is leading in international spaces — such as the building of a coalition of nations to dispel the idea that abortion is a fundamental human right — and praises the work of social service providers in the pro-life movement. ...

Oh! Dear Brother, what have you forgotten?
Would this be a Hymn (Spiritual Song) you would object to in congregation?

My dear brother and fellow saint Michael, here is my verdict: The preaching and message of the song is most biblical, and is the sort of thing I am engaged in at the present time, serving the Lord. However, for congregations, it is mere entertainment, as is shown by the applause afterwards. Hymns and spiritual songs are none other than certain types of psalms, as the Jews well knew.

Joel wrote:

Joel, thank you. It is a fact that if there is no change in someone's life, they are not born again. Conversion begins a whole new way of life and is a process of change. I was a hymn-singer for 30 years until it was pointed out to me that there was no biblical warrant for modern-style hymns in worship; rather psalms, psalms, and psalms.

So I believe there is also hope for you, too bro.

Yes, Stevenr, some discretions are advisable. Eating wildlife has been known to cause Coronavirus in the Far East so let’s be sure to cook all meat thoroughly before eating it. Doc should definitely label his possum subs and grub worm salad. Extra mayonnaise might help too.

And the mainstream media chimed in with..see, the evil and wicked President Donald Trump plays up to his dumb voters, who don't realize his Real Plan is to remove all choice from them.
Yet, at least one of those 'dumb' voters is asking, aren't the mainstream media friends of Democrats who want to take away the choice of everyone to own a gun in the privacy of their own home? Even a plastic straw or plastic bag drives them crazy!

Well, Joel.... I suppose after Church is all right, as long as we don’t invite Doc, cuz he’ll want us to eat possum.
And that’s way to greasy for me.

Stevenr, I think I could agree with you on everything except for the sandwiches during the worship service. Let’s do it before or after, preferably after so we don’t fall asleep during the service. I’m getting hungry already.

Well, if you please… I also Disagree with the male treatment of women, wholeheartedly am disgusted at any type of dispensationalism, not against singing just don’t call it worship if it isn’t worship. (Worship is me telling God how great He is. Praise is me telling others how great God is. Some hymns fall into that category, but many don’t.)
Dunno about eating sandwiches in the song service, but whatever. If you’re hungry. And I absolutely despise the “I’m the king and unquestionable” ideology of many pastors.
But, I do prefer women to dress modestly.
So, even though I’m IFB, I’d probably be voted out.

Or if that is too strong, perhaps
It is titled: Come Ye Sinners

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGvCm9I4H0A

Or since this thread touches on the heinous hateful slaughtering of babies, how about a pro-life Hymn?

Love you my brother, will be praying for you... with tears

I would suggest that you do not possibly fit the definition of IFB.
Correct! I object to the dress code, and the maltreatment of women, and I disagree with dispensationalism in a most wholehearted way; I object to the singing of hymns in corporate worship, the hymn-sandwich method of holding meetings, and the clergy/laity system of hierarchy.

So yes, I agree with you, bro.

I would suggest that you do not possibly fit the definition of IFB. You seem to be way too Calvinistic for that. Every AFB I know, including myself, believe in salvation by grace through faith— literally, the accepation of the gift of eternal life and forgiveness of sins that Christ has freely offered.
Stick with the Presbyterian moniker.

Tim, I disagree with what you say, but rejoice that you have the freedom to say what you think, and give your opinion, which in many countries you would not be able to do. However, observe your heart and see if you still love me or not. This will be a good indicator of your spiritual life, which must come from the Vine not your own resources, because Jesus said that "without me you can do nothing", where nothing means nothing.

Dr Tim, I am very concerned for you. Your comments over the last few days have been nothing but grumbling at others because of what they have posted. In other words, not much edification. If you want to do some good, try posting some of your thoughts, which may help others, especially in the work of evangelism. Don't get hung up with Yee Ha'ing all the way to heaven, because Jesus is never impressed with oppression of his people.

If you're not able to do that, just carry on as you were. I believe in freedom of speech, and you say whatever you want to say. It would be better if you said whatever Father would have you say, but Hey Ho, nobody's perfect.

What in the world is IFB?
Hi Joel,

IFB = Independent Fundamentalist Baptist, a sect of the Baptist movement which deserves to go down in the history of the Christian church as brave Baptists who were determined to maintain the fundamentals of the faith in the midst of the liberal mindset.

In one sense, you could call me an independent and fundamentalist Baptist. I am independent of denominational control, I believe all the fundamentals of the faith, and I believe in baptism by immersion for believers only.

In another sense you could call me an acapella Psalm-singing Presbyterian with certain reservations.

Better to just call me a fool who is following Christ. Or a disciple, a believer, a saint. I do not believe in denominations, as they create schisms and make the whole Christian thing full of complexity and confusion.

Dr. Tim wrote:
The scriptures are clear on this issue: If a Christian wants to observe a special day, he is free to do so, and if he doesn’t want to he is free to refrain. What we are NOT free to do is try to shove our personal preferences in the matter down the throats of our fellow believers, and that is exactly what John has been doing all along.
Dr Tim, your comment is a classic example of hypocrisy - you are not really happy to allow freedom of conscience to all Christians.

The fact that you are telling me to shut up shows that. It is a form of oppression, similar to communism.

Think about it.

An Episcopalian believer decides to attend your IFB church, as he is working in the area for 12 months and needs fellowship.

Is he allowed to wear what he chooses according to his conscience, or is he steered towards the IFB uniform? Is his wife told to wear a dress down to the ankles? Or to cease wearing slacks?

When he starts talking about his special days, according to the Episcopal Calendar, is he encouraged in that? Or is he mocked for such an unbiblical practice? Does he get the Yee Ha treatment? Or is he permitted to have his own conscience?

Check it out.
