Vatican using donations for the poor to fight its budget deficit
This sermon doesn’t amount to much, apparently.

As little as 10% of donations by Roman Catholics that are specifically advertised as helping the poor and suffering actually go toward charitable work, a new report says.

About two-thirds of the rest of the $55 million in donations for Pope Francis’ annual charitable appeal, known as Peter’s Pence, is used to fill the Vatican’s administrative budget deficit, The Wall Street Journal reported in an article Wednesday, citing sources familiar with the spending.

The newspaper said that the use of Peter’s Pence for the budget “is raising concern among some Catholic Church leaders that the faithful are being misled about the use of their donations, which could further hurt the credibility of the Vatican’s financial management under Pope Francis.” ...

""charitable appeal, known as Peter’s Pence, is used to fill the Vatican’s administrative budget deficit""

Nothing new at the Vatican I see.

The papal antichrist has been ripping its parishioners off for centuries by taking their money for the Vatican shopping list.

"Although reformers had many complaints about the Catholic Church of the 16th century, the practice of selling "indulgences" raised the most opposition. An indulgence was a payment to the Catholic Church that purchased an exemption from punishment (penance) for some types of sins." (Wiki)

Even more to the point irresponsible appointments is this one:

Most famously, there’s the case of Bishop Gustavo Zanchetta of Argentina, who resigned his post heading the Diocese of Oran in August 2017 amid accusations of abuse of power and “strange behavior” (charges of sexual abuse of adult seminarians came later). The rap sheet against Zanchetta also features charges of financial misconduct, including selling a building belonging to the diocese for $800,000 without going through the proper channels and leaving the transaction off the diocesan books.

Despite that, Francis in 2017 not only brought Zanchetta to Rome but named him Assessor to the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See (APSA), the Vatican’s financial powerhouse which oversees both the Holy See’s investment portfolio and its real estate holdings in Italy and around the world....

Yes, the Vatican has trouble with money and other problems as well.
AP wrote:
...The most senior Catholic cleric ever charged with child sex abuse has been convicted of molesting two choirboys moments after celebrating Mass, dealing a new blow to the Catholic hierarchy's credibility after a year of global revelations of abuse and cover-up.

Cardinal George Pell, Pope Francis' top financial adviser and the Vatican's economy minister, bowed his head but then regained his composure as the 12-member jury delivered unanimous verdicts in the Victoria state County Court on Dec. 11 after more than two days of deliberation.

Why don't they just pay off their debts with the money they have in their bank account? It would be an understatement to say that they have a billion or two put away in the Vatican bank.

As far as my opinion as to the loss of credibility of the pope and the Vatican, they lost credibility many years ago. Peter's Pence! Scam! Why do people in the Catholic organization continue to put up with, and support these various scams?
