Christian evangelist murdered in Turkey, sparking fear among Christian community
A Korean evangelist was murdered in southeast Turkey amid escalating persecution in the Middle Eastern country, sparking fear among the Christian community.

Persecution watchdog International Christian Concern reported that Jinwook Kim, 41, was stabbed three times on the street in the Turkish city of Diyarbakir on November 19. He later died of his injuries in a hospital.

Kim had been a resident in Turkey for five years and was living in Diyarbakir, having moved there earlier this year with his family to pastor a small Christian community. He was married with one child and another due within days. ...

Speaking as I do in Britain, I by the blessing of God, live in a large city at present, where there are of course many dead churches, (both liberal ones, and ones of an “evangelical” stripe that do not preach the real gospel), but I am blessed that there are a number of mainly small churches, but one or two larger ones not too far away, or within easy reach of public transport, where the Word of God is soundly preached without compromise. Sometimes fellowship is not always strong, however, in these churches, and that is a pity.

However, in Britain, there are many small towns, and rural areas, with very poor public transport, with hardly any good solid Bible preaching churches, and only the liberal churches, and supposed “evangelical”, mainly charismatic churches, that compromise the gospel, and follow a broadly seeker sensitive, watered down, or even heretical, ecumenical or prosperity route, also with “entertainment” evangelism. Just here and there in these districts, one can occasionally find a not very heralded small church or chapel with a few people and a very godly minister where the gospel is preached faithfully, and the Word of God expounded thoroughly.

Since I live in my neighborhood and have visited each church I referred to, it stands to reason that I know what I was reporting. I hope you never go through what I am going through in trying to find a real church, and I, like anyone else, not perfect, I can truthfully say that I'm not a liar. I am 76 years old, used a wheeled walker, can't get around like I once did, but I still want to be in a church where I can do as much as I can for the Kingdom. Before I had my accident I also had a car and could go to any church, even miles away, so the churches that are in my neighbor hood I have visited, except for the Catholic Churches. I want real fellowship and the true Word of God, not jokes and opinions of men instead of preachers opinions. There was no need to assume that I was not telling the truth, Jim. And I thank God that you are blessed to be in a great church. There's nothing like being in a good church. Pray for me, please. You're a blessed man with great understanding of the Word. I always enjoy reading your comments as they are full of thought-provoking, wisdom-filled commentary. Blessings to you. Good night.

All over the world Christians are persecuted attacked and as in this case murdered.

Western worldly politics at present favours friendship with Turkey as an ally. The EU wants it to become a member of their little family and the UN counts it as a buddy.

"Turkey is a founding member of the United Nations,[1] the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (now the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation),[2] the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development[3] and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe,[4] a member state of the Council of Europe since 1949,[5] and of NATO since 1952.[6] Since 2005, Turkey is in accession negotiations with the European Union, having been an associate member since 1963.[7] Turkey is also a member of the G20 industrial nations which brings together the 20 largest economies of the world.
Turkey entered NATO in 1952 and serves as the organization's vital eastern anchor" (Wiki)

And yet it still murders and persecutes Christians.
"With Erdoğan's jihadist rhetoric often stereotyping Christian Turkish citizens as not real Turks but rather as Western stooges and collaborators, many Turks seem to be tilting toward an "eliminationist anti-Christian mentality," (

JD wrote, “ Here in America where, thus far, we have freedoms not enjoyed in countries like Turkey and China, it is almost impossible to find a church that is obedient to the commands of God to go out and share the Gospel with the lost as found in the Book of Matthew 28:19-20.”
I couldn’t disagree more, JD. It is VERY unlikely that there’s not at least one such church within a half hour’s drive of wherever you live in Florida. I know of churches all over America that are actively trying to fulfill the Great Commission both at home and abroad. I am blessed to be a member of one such church.

Amen; JD; Speaking Truth!

Jhn 4:23-24 Yet a time is coming & has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit & truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, & his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.

A free daily devotional one can get from the Open Door ministry, as they share stories & ways to pray & support the Persecuted Church!

Prayer: For Christians in countries like North Korea who rarely have opportunity to express openly & publicly their worship of Almighty God.

Heb 13:15 By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.

Here we go again! Every day in these ungodly countries Christians are being persecuted, and even murdered for their Christian beliefs and their Christian works. Here in America where, thus far, we have freedoms not enjoyed in countries like Turkey and China, it is almost impossible to find a church that is obedient to the commands of God to go out and share the Gospel with the lost as found in the Book of Matthew 28:19-20. That commandment could be fulfilled without incurring the kind of persecution that the Christians in these areas other areas of the world are suffering. But we see the increasing intolerances coming against Christians here in America, that is, those of us who're paying attention to the changing climate towards Christians. We must pray for those who're living in these various countries where persecution is so prevalent while also thanking God for the freedoms we currently enjoy.
