CNN Peddles Idea That Trump Supporters Are in a 'Destructive Cult'
“So, I define a destructive cult as an authoritarian pyramid-structured group with someone at the top who claims to have total power and total wisdom that uses the deception and control of behavior, information, thoughts, and emotions to make people loyal and dependent and obedient followers,” Hassan said.

Trump uses a form of “mind control,” he said.

For anyone who remembers the creepy rise of Obama from his post as the junior senator from Illinois to being called an “enlightened being” and “Lightworker” in 2008, it sounded vaguely familiar. ...

If he wants to win in 2020, Trump will need to win again in suburban areas in states like Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan, and win with Trump-skeptical Republicans. The GOP’s problem in 2018 wasn’t just that Democrats came out motivated and in bigger numbers than in 2014. Their problem was that a small percentage of Republicans who don’t like Trump didn’t stay home — instead, they showed up, and they voted for Democrats....

....
Nichols told me he believed that Trump — and moreover, how Trump’s base has shrunk — played a big part in causing some Republicans to vote for Democrats. “Trump’s capture of the GOP as a cult of personality — which I had thought not possible — goes right down to the local level, and so my guess is that many of these voters were not trying to send a message (as some of us Never-Trumpers were trying to do) but rather finding themselves defined out of the Trump base, which is increasingly white, male, and uneducated,” he said....

Mike, I’m shocked! How dare you accuse Jim of having thoughts! As far as I can tell, Jim has never had a thought in his life. He merely cuts and pastes the thoughts of others.

Of course not, what a silly man.

Ok Jim, tell me. If all the neighbors in your hood broke into your house and said "We're here, where's the food, driver's license and free college education?", what would you do? Now remember you posted what James S. Gordon said Jesus said about loving your neighbor as yourself before you answer.

btw, parades of 20-something men from the middle east are not primarily made up of refugees. Drug dealers and gangs from south of the border are not the oppressed, but the oppressors. Why is there no process allowed in the world of the left for discerning who the real oppressed are, and why do you invariably support the bad guys or those in politics who do the same? Ever question your own thoughts?

Thats strange!!
I thought all these were natural Democrat party ideological aspirations today.

The selection above appear in socialist style thinking and PC Liberalist ambitions.

Big Brother "Democrat Metaphysics" - seeks a stalinesque autocracy.

Still others have become more skeptical, deeply pained by Trump’s mean-spirited treatment of refugees from political and religious oppression – the “neighbors” whom Jesus admonished us to “love as ourselves”. And now Evangelicals who voted for Trump are worried about outright betrayal. Middle and working class, elderly, and rural, they fear that Trump’s Obamacare replacement will deprive them of the medical care they desperately need.

The historical Cyrus was an architect and steward of a well-run, stable government, a leader of great generosity as well as authority, and a champion of religious tolerance and freedom.

If Donald Trump lives up to that precedent and his own promises to protect and support all our health and welfare, he will justify the allegiance of those who believe in a Cyrus prophesy or parallel – and likely win more converts.

If he continues to exercise power with little of Cyrus’ wisdom, generosity, and compassion, it is likely that a core group, whose support was buttressed with Biblical precedent, will lose faith....

Right to say that no one watches CNN--that if it weren't for their contracts to be aired on every TV set in airports, they would have only the reporters' spouses and mothers watching.
But...I still know people who swear that everything CNN says is the Gospel Truth. Of course, they are liberals, and cannot see anything good in President Trump.

I heard of the President's rally last night in Broward County, Florida (just north of Miami-Dade County, and south of Mar-a-Lago's Palm Beach County)and of course the local news--not CNN, please note---spent more minutes with the protesters than with the thousands supporting the President.

Their crowd shots were limited to show less 'crowd impact' than anything else.

Note even local news producers and editors are liberals, looking to get a Big Job in NYC or LA (and if they are really good looking women, get married so some billionaire).
You will probably notice the same bias in your local TV news and in your local newspaper

Jim peddles the same idea. He’s not much of a peddler, though. So far he hasn’t made a single sale.

Democrat procedure now is to accuse Trump supporters of what they do themselves, since people without a conscience do not believe hypocrisy is a sin. Recall Hillary's Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy?

CNN hasn't brought up anything new, as this article from over a year ago points out.
Tom Jacobs wrote:
Political scientists point out that President Barack Obama was also a charismatic leader who arguably had a cult-like following. But for the most part, he was carrying out policies Democrats have long championed, while Trump's policies often defy traditional Republican doctrine. What happens when a cult leader's dictates clash with the convictions of his followers?

√Trump is happily making these pronouncements and expecting everyone to go along with him, and he's not getting much flack. Most of his followers have bought into his fear-mongering, which creates an us vs. them mentality that is typical of a cult.

Is that emphasis on real or perceived enemies one way cult leaders keep control over their adherents?

√Absolutely. It breeds fear and paranoia in his followers, which leads them to think, "I'd better stick with him to be safe." His constant criticism and ridiculing and attacking "the other" also makes people feel superior. This sets up extreme polarization, which is always how cults have survived.

LOL. That's funny. Trump is controlling the minds of deplorables.

Unfortunately, not a new idea and sadly seems to be gaining traction.

What more sad, though, are those caught up in the lies of the Democrats and the current of the crowds who follow after them.

I am myself under Someone who has total control and total wisdom, though...the Triune God!
