Chick-fil-A To Stop Donations To Charities With Anti-LGBT Views?
As Chick-fil-A expands globally and into more liberal parts of the U.S., the chicken chain plans to change which charities it donates to after years of bad press and protests from the LGBT community.

Beginning next year, Chick-fil-A will move away from its current philanthropic structure, Bisnow has learned. After donating to more than 300 charitable organizations this year, the Atlanta-based fast-food chain will instead focus on three initiatives with one accompanying charity each: education, homelessness and hunger. “There’s no question we know that, as we go into new markets, we need to be clear about who we are,” Chick-fil-A President and Chief Operating Officer Tim Tassopoulos said in an interview with Bisnow. “There are lots of articles and newscasts about Chick-fil-A, and we thought we needed to be clear about our message.” ...

Tyranny, cohertion, and oppression are sure signs of unrighteousness in societies, opposite to benevolence and freedoms: the fruits following peoples living at peace with God.

Corporate purpose
“To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us and to have a positive influence on all who come into contact with Chick-fil-A.” (copied from corporate website)

For a business that espouses such a motto should be careful how it should "glorify God." At the least, their new stance emboldens other enemies of Christ to bully other businesses that seek to "glorify God" in what they do. Most are not as large as Chick-fil-a and will be marginalized and crushed by the enemy.

They should read what the Apostle John wrote to Gaius, the owner of inn that welcomed traveling saints: "Beloved, you practice faithfully whatever you have worked toward the brethren and toward strangers; who testified to your° love* in the sight of the congregation*; whom you will do well, having sent onward worthily of God. For* they went forth on behalf of the Name, taking nothing from the Gentiles. Therefore we ought to receive those who are such, in order that we should become fellow workers for the truth.
(3Jn 1:5-8)"

"Many of the company's values are influenced by the religious beliefs of its late founder, S. Truett Cathy, a devout Southern Baptist. All Chick-fil-A restaurants are closed for business on Sundays, as well as on Thanksgiving and Christmas. The company's stance in opposition to same-sex marriage has been the subject of public controversy."

"The founder's beliefs are responsible for the chain's most well-known and distinctive feature: all Chick-fil-A locations (both corporate owned and franchised) are closed on Sundays, as well as on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Cathy states as the final step in his Five-Step recipe for Business Success "I was not so committed to financial success that I was willing to abandon my principles and priorities. One of the most visible examples of this is our decision to close on Sunday. Our decision to close on Sunday was our way of honoring God and of directing our attention to things that mattered more than our business." (Wiki)

Chick-fil-A has donated over $5 million, via WinShape, to groups that oppose same-sex marriage. Of this, more than $3 million was donated primarily to Christian organizations whose agendas included positions that oppose same-sex marriage, with the money donated between 2003 and 2009." (Wiki)

People on both sides obsess over this company. Aren't organized churches enough to fuss about?

"education, homelessness and hunger"
I wonder what solutions they endorse for each of these?

Education: American education is overpriced while increasingly dumbed down and politicized. It is a racket for teacher's unions and tenured Communist professors, so I don't know what can be done short of boycotting outright.

Homelessness: Exacerbated (if not caused) by gov't interference in the housing market coupled with increasing social acceptance of substance abuse that makes people unfit/unable to even pay rent. Any magic bullets for this?

Hunger: You'd think Michelle Obama would've led a campaign against this (instead of obesity) if hunger in America is as bad as many claim. There's plenty of food thrown away every day by markets and fast-food.

Not every one, Joe. There is one in our area that plays classical music instead of the instrumental versions of CCM. They also do not display the signatures with Bible verses on that family photo that hangs in every store. There is a demographic difference in that particular community which probably drives that. It is not our favorite store, lacking the friendliness and attitude of other stores, and we typically choose to go elsewhere,

The only reason I have ever gone to Chick-fil-A is because their food is good, relatively cheap and the staff are very friendly.

Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

I have never imagined that Chick-fil-A was a Christian business or was owned by a Christian.

No surprise here.

""change which charities it donates to after years of bad press and protests from the LGBT community.""

Sodom and Gomorrah has won again.

Must be a reaction to the fire and brimstone in its previous existence.

Matt 11:23 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. 24 But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee."

Dr. Tim wrote:
Psalms 5:5–The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
It seems that the only sin in today’s society is to love what God loves and hate what God hates. But society as we now know it will be completely destroyed, while God and His word and His righteousness will endure forever.
Absolutely perfect Tim.

I find it strange that the queers are so hostile to the Salvation Army, when it was pointed out in the article that the Salvation Army is possibly the biggest provider of aid to queers when they are in need due to poverty?

Samuel Cathy saw this coming.

"And I hated all my labor in which I labored under the sun, seeing that I must leave it to the man who will be after me. And who knows whether he will be a wise man or a fool? Yet he will have rule over all my labor in which I have labored and in which I have shown myself wise under the sun. This also is vanity. Therefore I turned around to cause my heart to despair concerning all the labor in which I had labored under the sun. Because there is a man whose labor is with wisdom and with knowledge and with skillfulness, yet he will leave it to a man who has not labored in it for his portion. This also is vanity and a great evil.
(Ecc 2:18-21)"

They or going to let the hate groups dictate who they will give to now. Next they will open on Sundays and sponsor gay pride month! I am disappointed with Dan Cathy and will probably stop going as much. Just the thought of them selling out puts a bad taste in my mouth for Chick-fil-A.

Saddened by this news. I saw elsewhere that there could be a backlash against Chick fil A for this change. Besides their charities, I'd like them to bring back their cole slaw.
