Less than half of US evangelicals identify as 'pro-life'
Only a quarter of evangelicals in the United States believe abortion should be illegal in all cases, according to a new poll showing that a majority of self-identified Christians in the U.S. identify as “pro-choice” and less than half of evangelicals identify as “pro-life.”

Save the Storks, a pro-life organization that partners with pregnancy centers to provide women with free ultrasounds, released a new survey this week that it sponsored through the research firm Magid.

The survey is based on online interviews with 1,000 adults nationwide ages 18 to 69 conducted in May to gauge Americans’ opinions and attitudes on abortion. ...

This betrays your worldview: Because some unbelieving "experts" say something is so, you uncritically believe it implicitly, as if they are God, just like Catholics believing everything their church says, whether they understand it or not.

I might be able to address their arguments if more detail and examples were provided, but they conveniently omitted these.

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and Physicians for Reproductive Health released the following joint statement:

“The science of medicine is not subjective, and a strongly held personal belief should never outweigh scientific evidence, override standards of medical care, or drive policy that puts a person’s health and life at risk.

“Pregnancy imposes significant physiological changes on a person’s body. These changes can exacerbate underlying or preexisting conditions, like renal or cardiac disease, and can severely compromise health or even cause death. Determining the appropriate medical intervention depends on a patient’s specific condition. There are situations where pregnancy termination in the form of an abortion is the only medical intervention that can preserve a patient’s health or save their life.

“As physicians, we are focused on protecting the health and lives of the patients for whom we provide care. Without question, abortion can be medically necessary.”

The only’s seem to have nothing to do with whether one is saved. The term evangelical is defined by anything but salvation by the blood of Christ.
That said, there simply is too much noise gathered around the microphone to understand any relevant moral issue. One week it’s Kanye, next it’s impeachment,!etc. Being clear and brief on abortion is necessary. Otherwise, we call names, and beckon millions of immigrants because we’ve aborted 63 million American citizens. Our nation is Babylon.

Trump is the president, Jim, not my master. I try not to be like liberals, who are worshippers of the nanny state such as promoted by Clinton, Obama, AO Cortez, etc.

Donald Trump on abortion:

Kirk A. Bodo wrote:
"As most people know, and for those who would like to know, I am strongly Pro-Life, with the three exceptions - Rape, Incest and protecting the Life of the mother - the same position taken by Ronald Reagan," Trump said on Twitter.

Why would you wonder that? Is opposition to murdering the pre-born a political position?

This is a very informative article ❗ (How abortion unified Catholics and evangelicals to become a power on the right)

Interesting article from the Gallup poll.

There is never a reason to intentionally murder an unborn baby. The only exception that is usually noted is the life of the mother. The below clearly refutes that.

"When the life of the mother is truly threatened by her pregnancy, if both lives cannot simultaneously be saved, then saving the mother’s life must be the primary aim. If through our careful treatment of the mother’s illness the pre-born patient inadvertently dies or is injured, this is tragic and, if unintentional, is not unethical and is consistent with the pro-life ethic. But the intentional killing of an unborn baby by abortion is never necessary."

""that a majority of self-identified Christians in the U.S. identify as “pro-choice” and less than half of evangelicals identify as “pro-life.”"

"self-identified" - That about says it all.

Nominal or Liberalist christians are Satan's tares amongst the wheat.

There are many religious reprobates sitting in pews and pulpits today.

Every life in the world began at conception.
To stop any life after conception - you must kill that life.
That is murder.
Abortion is murder of the unborn child.

These killers will face the wrath of God and His punishment.

2Cor 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad."

Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works."

"Seven percent of pro-choice respondents said abortion should be illegal in all cases and 5 percent said it should be illegal in most cases."

The last half of that response tells me that many people have no idea what they believe or they want to be pro-choice because the want to join the majority.

I firmly believe that "pro-life" leaves some ambiguity on what exactly is killed. Luke, the medical doctor (Colossians 4:14) and historian, declares that when Mary greeted Elizabeth, “the babe” (John) leaped in her womb (Luke 1:41; cf. 44). The Greek word here employed by Luke is brephos. It is a term that is used in the Greek New Testament to denote either a pre-born or post-born child.

Unlike some modern religionists, who support the notion that the entity within the womb is a mere blob of tissue to be disposed of at will, the inspired writers of the Bible consider the unborn human to be a child in every sense of the word — as much a “baby” as a newborn infant. He or she is not just a fetus; there is a child in the mother’s body.

I always use "baby" when it comes discussing abortion; "baby" rather than "life" is more to the point.

Still, I understand that most know what exactly is being murdered. Those who are shamed to say what it is will get shamed when they say "Lord

A friend told me that he got in the mail a big envelope from 'NARAL' the group that promotes death (abortion). Outside the envelope it said something about 'support women's reproductive rights'
Too bad they don't realize half the babies being killed (aborted) are females, so they are ending any choice for those babies to have babies when they grow up.
What we have is a Culture of Death, death to things like the family, biblical roles for women, etc. And the church is trying to be 'relevant' by not opposing any of this culture.
Instead, it should be standing up for families, for widows, for babies.

This does not surprise me. The Progressive movement has championed infratcide for decades. They have also championed casual sexual relationships outside of marriage. The sexual revolution and abortion go hand in hand, and it has permeated the church quite broadly, damaging the general evangelical's ability to discern good from evil.
