Jersey law would criminalise parents who smack
Parents who discipline their children using smacking would be criminalised under new plans from the Government of Jersey.

Some politicians have challenged the idea, with one saying it is “not the role of Government to be a parent”.

And campaign group Be Reasonable said the move was “excessive”.

Amen brother. It is my belief and contention that in the last days (which we seem to be in right now), the "accuser of the brethren" will make mincemeat of the church of Jesus Christ, and cause a great falling away, for lack of simple strategy in the warfare against the forces of darkness. Too often we are sloppy and fall fast asleep in the pew (figuratively speaking) and think ourselves mighty fine, our worship is fine, our doctrine is sound, and we have no need of any repentance; there is no need to be serious-minded or sober, or fight for our life, all is well.

The apostle was not so, as we can see from his exhortation below, which teaching I am determined to follow, by the grace of God.

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
(Colossians 3:1-4 KJV)

Amen!

What you say is too true. The programming is almost complete, and the zombies vainly imagine themselves clever dickies and sooooo modern. But it is the mind-control liberals who are the clever dickies, who run the humanoids from their high tech battlements. The sovereign Lord chooses to permit this, as it is all part of his overall plan of justice.
It always, without fail, causes me to pause and give thanks, for HIS great grace and mercy, which HE showers upon some, out of HIS own good will and purpose, without reference to anything within them, such as good works (which they have not) or faith in Jesus Christ (which they also have not) or repentance (in which they are not interested); yet they come to Christ as little lambs, believing on HIM and are SAVED - to the glory of God's amazing grace!

YIA says...
You get many testimonies, especially from the 20 century, where the child hates his father for beating him like an unwanted mule."

And you get alot more examples of parents who raised devil's because they never properly disciplined their children...

Our jails our filled with criminals who never learned to respect authority or other people. And that started because their parents didn't train them in loving discipline...

No, I simply think you are immature and naive.

Boy are you clueless! Who would say that any Christian would even hint that we should spank our children like an unwanted mule. Or what Christian would even suggest we whip our children when it was "not necessary"

No my question was not to set up a strawman, but to show the absurdity of your position as I saw it:

reductio ad absurdum (Latin for "reduction to absurdity"), also known as argumentum ad absurdum (Latin for "argument to absurdity"), apagogical arguments or the appeal to extremes, is a form of argument that attempts either to disprove a statement by showing it inevitably leads to a ridiculous, absurd, or impractical conclusion, or to prove one by showing that if it were not true, the result would be absurd or impossible

Is that a strawman frank?
I think it is! I have to waste time and burn it by telling you I don't believe the Holy Spirit is "unkind and unloving"

and no I don't have kids of my own... so what? Who else are you gonna tell this to, APOSTLE PAUL 😏?

The reality is, the Bible does not forbid spanking, but neither does it demand it, hence I repeat my own words "we do have other methods", such as:

"Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."
Ephesians 6:4

Here is a question:
Is using the "rod" always bring about discipline? How about the opposite, is not using a "rod" will always bring about an ungodly child?

The answer is no.
You get many testimonies, especially from the 20 century, where the child hates his father for beating him like an unwanted mule.

And of course there are testimonies of Christians who were never or seldom spanked, and they were BLESSED by such parents.

Bring them to a homeless shelter. All they will say is...

"When I'm older, I won't be like"

Take away a meal for a punishment. All they will think is...

"When I'm older I won't ever have to miss a meal no matter what I do"...

Give them a spanking and a loving talk. All they can say is...

"While I'm younger, I better obey are I'll get one of those again"

Spankings are a form of punishment that gets the child's attention in order for them to understand what they did wrong. If a child hits his sibling, I don't think driving to the homeless shelter, or skipping a meal that may happen in 5 hours will help them in any way...

Rob, they are not an animal, we do have other methods, such as teaching them the consequences of their actions, take them to a homeless shelter and show all the disabled people and tell them, that can be you son!
What about not rewarding them, for every stupid thing they do, withhold something nice from me, like dinner.
But that would require parenting skills, but you know it's easier to just "whoop em in ye' old backside, like me pappy used to do to me!"
So, are you saying the Holy Spirit was unkind and unloving when He penned the following?

Proverbs 13:24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

YIA, I don’t know how many children you have reared, but there’s no better method than the ones God prescribes for us—including chastening with a rod.

Today’s bureaucrats are liberal, banal, absurd and ignorant of life in the community and the family.

Making decisions on that basis is mine numbingly puerile and nonsensical.

The future generation is being destroyed before they get here.

Eccl 4:2 Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead more than the living which are yet alive. 3 Yea, better is he than both they, which hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun”

Proverbs 13:24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

I remember Hillary saying it takes a village and what she meant by that is government has just as much responsibility in raising our children than we do. There are times when we as parents are supposed to use the rod and inflict pain to modify our children’s conduct and behavior.

When my children were young they got spanked and any parent that doesn’t do that when necessary is certainly not a godly parent.
