Planned Parenthood charges the exposure of its body-parts trade caused harm and it wants $16 million in compensation.

Daleiden and Merritt are represented by different legal groups. Liberty Counsel, defending Merritt, said Planned Parenthood is trying to use the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations law, RICO, against the investigators. ...

This article is premature. One might expect it could be like the OJ Simpson cases where OJ got off in the criminal trial, but lost in the civil trial. So rather than reporting on the beginning of the process it will be interesting to see how the verdict for the civil trial turns out rather than just reporting that is going to begin. I hope that SA keeps track of it, and tells us how it ends ❗

Ridiculous news day.

So a person witnesses a crime and calls 911. The police arrive, arrest the caller for reporting the crime. But the evidence goes viral. Then the actual criminal sues the one who called 911 for damages.

Ah, Isaiah 59?

Seems that PP feels that they have a better chance in civil court than in criminal court right now, or that they feel they can pile on civil damages to criminal conviction leveraging what they hope is a criminal conviction, or they want to stress the resources of the defendants which could lead to a win for PP all while trying to appear innocent.
