Pastor beaten to death and robbed outside of his church
A central Iowa pastor who also served as a chaplain to area first responders was robbed and beaten to death outside of his church, authorities said.
Officers sent to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge on Wednesday evening found the Rev. Allen Henderson lying unresponsive outside of the building, police said in a news release. Henderson was pronounced dead at a local hospital of injuries consistent with an assault.
Police later arrested Joshua Pendleton, 36, and charged him with robbery and first-degree murder. He remained jailed on Thursday, and online court records don’t list an attorney for him yet. The records do show that he was previously convicted of disorderly conduct, assaulting a jailer and other crimes....
ELECT: THIS ACCOUNT OF A CHRISTIAN BEING KILLED OUTSIDE OF A CHURCH REMINDS ME OF ONE RELATED TO ME--BY FORMER PROFESSOR AT THE MOODY BIBLE INSTITUTE--PROF./BR./EVANGELIST JOHN S. BARRIER (1963-1971).
BR. BARRIER, AFTER BEING "SQUEEZED-OUT" OF MBI IN 1971 BY "FALSE-BRETHREN" WHO "CREPT IN UNAWARES" AT MOODY; TOLD ME HOW THE LORD CALLED HIM TO THE NATION OF SURINAME; WHERE, A BROTHER IN CHRIST WAS BEATEN TO DEATH OUTSIDE OF A ROMAN-"CATHOLIC"-TEMPLE-OF-IDOLATRY/MARYOLATRY: ALL BECAUSE HE WAS PASSING OUT BIBLE/GOSPEL-TRACTS & EVANGELIZING IN FRONT OF THE ROMAN-TEMPLE !
IN SHORT, BR. BARRIER HELD MANY OPEN-AIR/EVANGELISTIC MEETINGS IN SURINAME: WINNING MANY ROMAN-"CATHOLICS" TO CHRIST--ESPECIALLY NUNS & PRIESTS !
IT, COMING TO THE EARS OF THE ROMAN-"CATHOLIC" ARCHBISHOP OF SURINAME; CAUSED HIM TO PERSONALLY INTERVIEW BR. BARRIER: RESULTING IN THE ARCHBISHOP COMING TO THE TRUE LORD JESUS CHRIST OF THE TRUE HOLY BIBLE !
THUS, BR. BARRIER HAD THE AUTHORITY OF THE ARCHBISHOP TO PERSONALLY HOLD EVANGELISTIC-CAMPAIGNS INSIDE OF SURINAME ROMAN-"CATHOLIC"-TEMPLES: RESULTING IN MULTITUDE ROMAN-"CATHOLICS" BEING LEGITIMATELY SAVED/BORN-AGAIN !
BR. BARRIER EVEN PREACHED THE TRUE BIBLE GOSPEL AT THAT ROMAN-TEMPLE WHERE THE OTHER BROTHER WAS MURDERED !
Just so it's stated, this was a Missouri Synod Lutheran, NOT a mainline Lutheran.
The church had a statement posted on their website but didn't see it last time I went to find it.
At some point, I believe the Lord's patience with being separated from His people runs out. At that point, He calls them home, directly and without delay. He desires that we enter into His rest. This pastor has done that. While the circumstances are horrendous, the Lord's will is done. And woe be it to those by Whom offenses come.
Allen Wayne Henderson was born on February 13, 1955 in Clarion. As young man he grew up in western Nebraska where he graduated from Scotts Bluff High School. On March 22, 1975 he was united in marriage to Kristine Johnson and they made home in western Nebraska near Scotts Bluff. For several years Allen was a feed and grain salesman. He then decided to follow his true calling to be a Pastor. He began his calling at Concordia Lutheran Church in Williston, ND and then later moved to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Boone. In 1999, Pastor Al came to Fort Dodge where he served as Senior Pastor for St. Paul Lutheran Church where he became well known and loved by his parish. In 2014, Pastor Al along with many others help started "Serving Our Servants" S.O.S. which was based on serving those who serve the community. Pastor Al was also the Chaplain for Fort Dodge Police Department, Fort Dodge Fire Department, Webster County Sheriffs Department and the Iowa State Patrol District 7. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren. Rev. Allen could often be heard saying "Well Done Thou Good and Faithful Servant" and also would end conversations with "Carry On". He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
