Carolyn Hax: The ‘Billy Graham rule’ (7th Commandment) is outdated
The “Billy Graham rule” is a profound insult to men and women alike, reducing them to unchecked impulses and plumbing. Its stubborn survival is an embarrassment. Not to mention, it’s a laughable barrier to infidelity; every day brings opportunities to stray, whether by chance, familiarity or intent, among friends, in the community or at work.

What the rule does manage to impede is people’s ability to do their jobs — a cost, given our still-male-dominated power structure, borne disproportionately by women. Not that it would be okay if it were male wings getting clipped. The rule can’t go extinct soon enough. ...

God's laws have always been outdated...

Even when the first law (don't eat from the tree) was only a few hours old, Eve decided it was outdated and wanted her own sinful desires...

All of God's laws are outdated to a world that see the bible has a annoying conscience teaser from the days of old...

I can only assure you this. God will judge all people by the "outdated" laws in His word. When that happens, I don't think they will consider them irrelevant any more...

Exodus 20:14 is not outdated. Adultery is as much a sin as it ever was.

I understand the concerns of this man's wife. I certainly would not want a husband travelling alone with and having dinners together with any woman other than me, his wife! Such is a godly jealousy {II Cor. 11:2} to preserve obedience to God's word and spare reproach to His name, as well as to uphold one's own name and testimony. Yet again, trouble surfaces when women are not keepers at home, as the Bible commands.

"Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall" {Proverbs 16:18}.

The poor old reprobates cannot read the truth or receive the Bible doctrines.

Rejecting God's laws is just one of the evil paths of the unsaved on their way to hell and damnation.

Marriage is the union of a man and woman and was ordained by God. Breaking God's laws is disobedience of our creator and demonstrates ignorance, blindness and alienation from the life of God. Eph 4:18.

Marriage is an authority ordained by God specifically for God's creatures. Marriage blesses this Union and the family through the grace of God. By this blessing the man and woman are made as one, and signifies God's involvement. Without marriage thus without God's grace the union is incomplete in God's creation. Therefore NOT in the sight of God.

The sin is therefore adulterous and sinful subject to the wrath of God and punishment. God does not countenance disobedience.

Interesting that woman columnist is giving marital advice when she's a divorcee herself ❗

Dr. Rugh wrote:
Issue Number Four
The Role of Women

Another major issue is the role of women. Momentum continues to grow behind the world’s view of the woman, and little by little the Church begins to absorb the world’s thinking.

Francis Schaeffer wrote that to see where the Church will be in the next ten years, look at where society is today. You can see that pattern in all areas-certainly in the role of women. As society has changed its view on the biblical roles, the Church has gradually adapted and reinterpreted the Scriptures to arrive at the same view.

The fact that for centuries the biblical roles of man and woman were not even issues for the Church ought to wave a red flag for believers. Now they are saying we have been all wrong. Now we are to pursue egalitarianism-an equality that implies “sameness.” The Church is being pushed into radical change....

Amen, YIA. The argument is laughably based on feminist concepts. DF should be on board soon with 1 Timothy.

Writting a negative article on a popular lifestyle... just to unnecessarly upset people.... sounds like trolling by the washington times. Clearly we should not feed these trolls
