Atheism is 'hopelessly simplistic', says Oxford professor Alister McGrath
Oxford science professor Alister McGrath has said he abandoned atheism for Christianity because it offered a "bigger picture of things".

In a recent debate on science and religion, Professor McGrath said that atheism was "hopelessly simplistic", while Christianity offered a more compelling framework within which to explore science.

"I felt [atheism] was hopelessly simplistic, or at least the forms I knew. And I think what really drew me to Christianity was this deep sense that it offered me a bigger picture of things," he said.

"A way of making sense of myself, of our world, and also providing conceptual space for science. In other words, I continued to love science as something that really mattered, but having a framework into which I could fit it." ...

I would not be so hard on this man. He is a work in progress just like all of us. While he has not arrived at the same place we have, he is getting there. Give the Holy Spirit time. He did not whip me into shape in a day. And I'm glad the Lord gently lead me along paths of righteousness for His own name sake.

I too was where is man is today once.

It really is wonderful how faith in our Lord makes the world suddenly make sense, and studying His creation shows His fine craftsmanship, artistry, and immense creativity.

Evolution is actually true.
For those who cannot know the truth.

Atheism is simply the lack of knowledge.

Atheists are people whom God has not manifested the truth to.

Christians are of two types
(1) Those who are convinced they are religious.
(2) Those who are converted by God.

Liberalism is human religious ideologiy, in this respect they are the same as Roman Catholics and Jehovahs Witnesses, and other nominals.

This fellow adheres to theistic evolution, sometimes referred to as old earth creation. Like some of the popes have said; "we don't mind you teaching evolution, just don't leave God out of it".

IMO, the above forms of creation are just as bad or maybe worse than outright evolution.

Pope Francis: ‘Evolution … is not inconsistent with the notion of creation

Pope Benedict XVI - Thus, the last section of this homily turns to evolution. Here he proposes the “inner unity” of creation and evolution and of faith and reason.

And others.
