Church cancels 9/11 event under pressure from CAIR
A Michigan church canceled a 9/11 event critical of the interfaith movement and Islamic supremacism after complaints from the Council on American-Islamic Relations and politicians.
Bloomfield Hills Baptist Church was to host a two-day event called “9/11 forgotten? Is Michigan surrendering to Islam?” on Wednesday and Thursday.
A former Muslim who has become a popular speaker, Shahram Hadian, was to speak Wednesday on “How the Interfaith Movement is Sabotaging America and the Church.” And on Thursday, Jim Simpson, a former Office of Management and Budget economist to three presidents and an investigative reporter, was to speak on “How Islam is Destroying America from Within.”
The event was planned by a group called the Detroit Coalition for Freedom....
The persecuted Christians in Islamic countries who make a stand at great cost have been effectively betrayed by this fearful attitude by churches and Christians in Western countries.
I quickly investigated this article, (though WND is not easy here in Britain to access), and looked up this church on the Internet.
I did try to look up the website of this church but all that cane up was a blue page with a message on it stating that the meetings on 9/11 and 10/11 were cancelled without giving a reason. It appeared that the the website was closed down. I also found a reference to the church’s Facebook page but that too seemed not to be available.
All I could find otherwise were US American newspaper articles about it which were mostly hostile to the church, and very triumphant that the meetings “of hate” had been cancelled.
I did find one article from the Jihad Watch website that gave the true picture.
Reading behind the lines it looks as if the pastor was in favour of the meetings going ahead, and even defended it on the local radio, but it seems that he may have been overruled by his fearful elders.
The Muslims will be cock a hoop that sharia law has triumphed and this dhimmi Church has been put in its place.
In my view the elders should all resign with immediate effect, or the church membership should come together and require their resignation. The persecuted Christians in Islamic countries who make a stand at great cost have been effect
I find it sad that our nation cares about those and those things which we are so directed by those with an agenda. Philanthropy and generous contributions are often with wrong and devious motivation. It's interesting that a girl is on trial for murdering, burning and burying her baby while there are so many who are encouraged to "legally" kill theirs. There are so many people falling through the cracks that we need only be sensitive to the Lord's leading in reaching out rather than be distracted and go through the endless, ritualistic memorials of others. Undoubtedly,911 was a tragedy and many innocent people lost their lives but it shouldn't be held over our heads for political gain. Living in the Dayton, OH area, I see how the oregon district incident has been exploited to that end. The people who were in the bar district, who were killed, are being heralded as heroes and millions of dollars have been raised to give to the survivors and family members. The killer had been in the bar just minutes before drinking. But for the grace of God, there go I but perspective is grossly warped. Politically, it's just about gun restrictions and hugging everyone.
