Chinese pastor shared Gospel with 1,000 North Koreans before being assassinated for his faith
A pastor on the China-North Korea border shared the hope of the Gospel with at least 1,000 North Koreans before he was assassinated for his missionary work in 2016, a defector has revealed.

Voice of the Martyrs says the Rev. Han Chung-Ryeol, a Chinese pastor of Korean descent, was on Pyongyang's most-wanted list as early as 2003 for his charitable work and dedication to spreading the Gospel.

Han, who ministered on the border town of Changbai since the early 1990s, ministered to thousands of North Koreans over the years — many of whom had fled the famine-stricken country in search of food and jobs. The pastor provided practical aid, such as food and clothing, and introduced each person to the Gospel before sending them back to North Korea to share Christ and help their families. ...

Hey QC,

I agree, and it's one of the big pieces that keeps the people in bondage, in line, and as one with the state religion. Can't allow the "infection" of Christianity to begin to spread, so send a message out that any dissenters will be murdered, or imprisoned.

Actually, North Korea, though technically a Communist atheist state, is actually a very religious state.

The compulsory state religion id enforced brutally on all North Koreans by law, with savage penalties for any non-compliance, and is what the North Korean government and Worker’s Party (Communist Party), call Juche, I believe, which basically is the absolute worship and devotion to the three leaders of the Kim family that have since 1948, and still, run North Korea, as their despotic absolute fiefdom or kingdom. That is Kim Il Sung, the founder of the state, his son, Kim Jong Il, and now the current leader, his grandson, Kim Jong Un.

Every North Korean must wear a badge with the first two leaders, a photograph clean and regularly dusted of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, and also separately of Kim Jong Un, must be displayed in every house. People must go regularly to the nearest statue of these men, and lay flowers at the foot of it, bowing profusely.

Children sing songs in schools praising the supposed god like qualities of their “great leaders”, and in tremendous parades, acrobatic displays, television, radio programmes and theatrical productions, they are praised and exalted. This is the religion that is so threatened by true Biblical Christianity, and that is why

Great article about a great example of a man of God, not merely a take-it-or-leave-it gospeller, but a Christian man with a Christian heart, with great love and concern for the well being of others, not only their salvation but their bellies also. Who would have thought that purchasing basketfulls of mushrooms from a non believer to sell at market would lead to their conversion? I found this story to be most edifying and encouraging.

Pyongyang's most-wanted list for 13yrs, for doing charitable work, and presenting the gospel to North Koreans...that's some kind of hatred for The God of The Bible.

Now, I would think that if all of these other false religions, and cults, truly believed that their gods and goddesses reigned supreme, they wouldn't be so fearful over a little competition. I would think they'd just sit back, and let their powerful gods take any others to the cleaners, for daring to make such claims of existence and superiority. Are their gods and goddesses so weak that they couldn't even stop this Pastor on their own, after 13yrs, until one of their puny humans finally murdered him?

So interesting how they will protect their gods, by any means necessary, even murdering for them...gods and goddesses who don't, and never even existed. Inventions of the mind, and false prophets of old. Tragic, to say the very least.
