Gillette Loses Billions after 'Toxic Maxculinity' Ads
Gillette ran an infamous “toxic” masculinity ad during the Super Bowl casting men as sexist bullies, followed by one in which a father teaches a daughter who is “transitioning to be a man” to shave.
The February ad prompted an immediate backlash, with many men vowing to stop using Gillette products, charging the ad assumes most men are misogynistic.
Now, P&G is reporting a net loss of about $5.24 billion for the second quarter due to an $8 billion non-cash writedown of Gillette, according to Reuters.
For the same period last year, Reuters noted, P&G’s net income was $1.89 billion, or 72 cents per share.
Gillette on made on good cartridge and that was their “ Mach 3 turbo “, but the patient ran out so now their suffering. I went back to using a safety razor. After that ad and the transgender ad, I thought, whatever happened to my old twist to open. Not many ads for shaky hands covered in blood sells razors blades.
If McDonald's started to run adds about "toxic fast food" people would most likely be smart enough to realize they are eating trash. Companies usually don't cause there own downfall in a direct manner like they have done. I guess when you live in a cultural stupidity craze with the LGBT...abc stuff. They do things like this...
Not that it affects me anyway...
I have been using oppossom teeth to shave for years...
Disposable razors, like plastic product packaging, generate more waste that must be disposed of. So much for the "sustainability angle."
And through effective advertising propaganda, Gillette taught women to be ashamed of unshaven legs. A century ago, women didn't expose enough flesh for this to matter.
In the '70s, Phillip Morris exploited feminism to sell Virginia Slims cigarettes with disgusting Strawman ads about how "bad" women had it before they were "liberated" to smoke. But Bernays really started this back in '20s.
I am sorry to report that I haven't found Gillette nor Schick in the KVJ Bible (you know, the same version that the Apostles Peter and Paul used). There are a few verses about having your head shaved for a vow--that's what Paul did, I think.
As to buying razors, price is the key for me, not the ads. So I haven't bought any of their items since CVS stopped running those deals where you would pay $9.99 for the G-Fusion-Super-Duper Razor with 3 refills and get a $5.00 rebate and use a newspaper coupon for $4.00. Part of that problem is that I realized I had enough of the newspaper coupons, always for the same items, and CVS stopped running those rebate deals. Now they try to get you to buy more and get a $3 rebate. That doesn't cut the mustard for me, boys. And I had gotten so many of those razor deals that I have enough to last me years. There used to be ads on radio and even some podcasts for a mail-order shave club, which seems strange, when you go to CVS all the time to buy milk or something else where they have these deals of buy $40 and get $10 off.
This is what happens when you believe the lie that if you believe in man/woman categories and and traditional values. They concede to an extreme minority and commit company suicide. Majority of America does not believe the Leftist values.
