Trump holds meeting with black pastors amid Rep. Cummings, Al Sharpton tirade
President Donald Trump met with a group of predominantly black pastors at the White House Monday as he continued to criticize one of the more prominent African American members of Congress and the city he represents.
Along with Vice President Mike Pence, Trump met with a group of about 20 clergy as they discussed the progress the administration is making on a number of issues impacting inner cities such as employment, criminal justice, prison re-entry and opportunity zone initiatives.
The meeting comes almost a year after Trump met with a group of inner-city pastors last August to discuss similar issues to help their communities....
In some of the Reformed churches with more solid theology that I have attended over the years, it is black Christians that have been at the heart of the church, and have been the most faithful in prayer, evangelism, and in these more doctrinal churches, they have been the ones most dedicated and zealous for biblical, solid doctrine.
To get back to places like Baltimore, or certain parts of London, it is the truly evangelical church that is the real answer to the problems of these places, not time serving corrupt politicians, black or white, who have their own politically correct secular agendas. Only the Word of God, and the Holy Spirit can transform hearts and lives of black and white people, and make them new creations in Christ Jesus.
I speak carefully as a white man, but who has a great respect for hard working, godly black Christians.
I actually attended some meetings of a convention of a Black Pentecostal Church here in Britain some years ago, and was very heartened at the hospitality and kindness of the people. They did their own catering, and apparently all the visiting delegates were housed at the homes of the local brothers and sisters, not in hotels. Unlike some black denominations, this group did not emphasise money, and collections were not even taken during the services.
A different black church, who also had their annual convention, in the city I was living in, and who hired the local city concert hall, there was a good speaker, an elderly minister, who very firmly exhorted his community, to educate their children properly, the men of the community to be responsible, not to take handouts, and to be proper families in the church.
I may struggle with the theology of some these churches, but it is often the black Christians who are at the heart of evangelism and prayer in their communities.
Outstanding comments Carl. I really appreciate your comments about female pastors and feminization of young boys to young confused. For one, unsurping power from the ministry is unbiblical, yet, I’m afraid with the hipsters running the SBC, the Moore acolyte JD Greer will encourage this metoo# groinkick like he did when he agreed for Beth Moore to preach/ pride speak to the messengers at the SB Convention. Secondly, men and women, if you’re in church , unmarried and fornicating, then may the Lord deal with you. And if a woman gets pregnant due to her fornication , then I pray she keeps her child and a man stands up and marries her away from her promiscuous ways.
Here's an interesting exercise about Baltimore: compare it to Portland, Oregon, a city also controlled by the Democrats:
Baltimore has a population of 619,000 people. Its 70 percent black and 25 percent white. There were 309 homicides in 2018, meaning Baltimore had 53 homicides per 100,000 citizens. The city has had a Democrat mayor for 52 straight years.
Portland has a population of 647,000 people. Its 77 percent white and six percent black. There were 29 homicides in 2018, meaning Portland had 3.4 homicides per 100,000 citizens. The city has had a Democrat mayor for 39 straight years.
I must admit as a Black man that I am grateful to the LORD for putting me in Hams clan. However, I am very disappointed in the average American Black pastor. The vast majority profess publicly to be pro-life and a good portion may actually vote that way in most instances, but the Black women in their pews are having abortions at a very high rate. This may be due to the growing number of Black pastors who are women. I have witnessed these women pastors having a negative influence on Black men where they relinquish their headship in marriage and their sons become feminized.
I think it is good that some decided to give the President an audience. To quote him, "What have (they) got to lose?" They have lost for over 50 years with the lying Democrats.
One more thing: I was born in Baltimore but thank the LORD he sent me down to NC to be raised by my grand parents when I was 6 months old. When I was 14 I was almost shot in Baltimore by a 12 year old; on Christmas day no less! Many of these Democratic ruled cities and states are the worse run. If they vote in a Republican they prosper for a bit and then all the gains are lost and squandered by their Democratic replacements who often bring up the race card to get them out of office.
