Colorado's snowpack is 40 times normal after rare summer solstice dump
On summer's opening day, up to 20 inches of snow buried the high terrain of the Colorado Rockies, boosting the state's snowpack to extraordinary levels for the time of year.

The solstice flakes marked a continuation of a snowy stretch that began in January and February and lingered through spring. Even before the solstice snow, The Denver Post wrote, the state's snowpack was "in virtually every numerical sense . . . off the charts." At the time, the snowpack was 751 percent above normal.

Due to the new snow Friday into the weekend, the Natural Resources Conservation Service reported that the state's snowpack ballooned to 4,121 percent above normal as of Monday. This number is so high because ordinarily very little snow is left by late June, and cold temperatures late into the spring helped preserve what fell earlier. ...

Not saying we're here yet, but there is a bowl or vial that will have something like this kind of impact, although we must consider the degree to be far more serious in its impact:
And the fourth Angel poured out his vial on the sun, and it was given to him to torment men with heat of fire, And men boiled in great heat, and blasphemed the Name of God, which hath power over these plagues, and they repented not to give him glory. - Revelation 16:8-9
However, there are many parallels. The heat won't kill everyone but those who survive it will continue to blaspheme the name of the Lord and not repent to give Him glory. Does anyone see the hand of the Lord rocking Europe and reminding those peoples who He is? And does anyone else see this and likewise repent?
I call my fellow countrymen the Living Dead, QC. They are alive physically and dead spiritually. They could be called Natural Man. God could come and appear in front of them, and they would deny it. They would call him a glutton and a winebibber.

No, I don't expect repentance any day soon.

More records gone.

France has hit its highest recorded temperature - 45.9C (114.6F) - amid a heatwave in Europe that has claimed several lives.

The new record was measured in the southern town of Gallargues-le-Montueux. Before this year the previous record was 44.1C during a heatwave in 2003 that killed thousands.

Health Minister Agnès Buzyn has said "everyone is at risk".
from BBC

I can't imagine temperatures like that. We are fortunate to see half that figure where I live in Wales.

But I think the Christian community is going to have to backtrack on this global warming or climate change issue. I'm not saying it is necessarily caused by what the 'specialists' are saying, but the daily and weekly evidence is on the weather forecast on a regular basis. That is, unprecedented weather, whether it be storms, rainfall, or temperature.

I remember doing some community service in wyoming, picking up thrash on the highways and was surprised at how many beer bottles were on the side of the road.

I don't know much about this, but I agree with you.

Natural man not only wants to fill his heart with stuff only fit for a cesspit, he wants his world filthy as well. I was thinking about this on my prayer-walk yesterday, when I saw an empty coke can on the pavement. A human being had either dropped it there while walking up the hill, or someone had chucked it out of a car window.

I'm still waiting for the global cooling that was predicted in 1975. CO2 was going to block the sun's heat. Hair spray was destroying the ozone layer. Food production would decrease because of loss of the great wheat producing areas of Canada and the USSR, leading to potential famines, etc., etc. Some predictions were expecting a new ice age. The only difference between the doomsayers of then and now is the direction the temperatures were supposed to go. But the call for government intervention to "fix" it is the same.

by the way, pollution is a real problem, trash in the oceans is a real problem, and the need for fresh water is a real problem. Climate change is real, too, and has been for millennia.

It's time for an American vacation? sounds like many of those in France and other European countries should be hightailing it over to Colorado to cool off ❗😅🎿

The cold wave and pot should have made Colorado the tourist hotspot for Europeans ❗👍

Youth in Asia, you have a unique position on global warming-for this forum. I for one don't think it has anything to do in your status for being a Christian ❗

I would consider myself to be neither liberal or conservative, and often frustrate western believers when they can't put me in either of those 2 camps (welcome to politics, I guess). But I believe climate change is undeniable, the man made pollution disasters are very real, and seem irreversible, sea life is filled with toxic plastic garbage islands the size of a whole country, clean water is still the most precious element there is. We have no idea of the scale of pollution, because it's hidden by most governments, china in the trade war threatened by making rare earth metals expensive, because they have a monopoly simply because they know no other country wants to destroy their environment for some dirt and rocks. There is only doom and gloom when it comes for the future of the environment of the world.

With all the hub bub about global warming, I think it would be quite humorous if the increased global temperatures create a greater and longer snow pack, rapidly building glaciers, and reflecting more sunlight back into space...thus reducing the temperature. The Lord frustrates the plans of the wicked while holding them in derision - Psalm 2 applies.

Why don’t they use their God-given ability to reason? Why don’t they analyze all of the facts and come to a logical conclusion? In other words, why don’t they just flip a coin?

We are going to have to be, Christopher. Three years we have been waiting to finally come out of the EU, and now our [Remain] Prime Minister has resigned, Tory MP's have decided the contest will be between Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt [both Leavers], which the party members will vote on, and we won't know the result for another three weeks or so. And then the whole process starts up all over again, with a new deadline of 31st October 2019, when we come out with a negotiated deal or a no deal. Or (oh noooooo) yet another delay and 'out date' pushed back for a third time.

So we have to stay cheerful, bro. You tell as many jokes as you like, and think of us poor dabs across the pond.

No, I think it's my fault bro. Somehow I managed to miss Colorado off my prayer-list. I've been trying to reverse the effects of climate change, and surprise my American friends, by having some great weather for a change. I apologise: note to self, "must do better!"
