It’s Not Just Corn, U.S. Farmers May Forgo Near-Record Soy Acres
American farmers, already set to leave a record number of acres without corn, now face the prospect of also failing to plant soybeans because of rampant rainfall.

Growers are expected to file insurance claims on 2.2 million unplanted soybeans acres, or about 890,000 hectares, according to the average estimate among analysts. While some farmers still have time to plant, the estimate would be just below the record of 2.23 million acres that couldn’t be plant with soy in 2015.

I hope our farmers don't forget these grandstanding Republicans who delayed their aid❗👎

Niv Elis wrote:
...with headlines proclaiming the country has been subjected to 500 tornadoes in the past 30 days — a near record — and flooding in Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas, the delay tactics by conservatives have prompted sharp rebukes from fellow Republicans.

“Unfortunately, more clowns showed up today to once again delay disaster relief for the states and farmers devastated by the storms of 2018,” Rep Austin Scott (R-Ga.) tweeted on Tuesday.

Rep. Kay Granger (Texas), the top Republican on the House Appropriations Committee, called the legislative maneuvers a “political stunt.”

It's interesting that ancient Egypt under the leadership of Joseph👍 was ready for climatic disasters -- It's too bad our country apparently isn't!

Having just traveled through much of the Southeast, Doug, I would have to say that Dixie’s leading crop appears to be kudzu. I doubt if a nuclear holocaust would get rid of that stuff.

If you ask the Man on the Street for his opinion, he would say it was due to Global Warming.
Rice is grown in the US, with Arkansas being the lead state, with over 107.33 million centum weight of rice in 2018, California produced 43.4 million, Louisiana 32 million, Missouri with 15 million, Texas with 13 million and then Mississippi with 13 million. It is interesting that the Arkansas rice farmers were very supportive of trade with Cuba, a big consumer of rice.

Although Amos deals primarily with Israel, it is easy to see many parallels between their wickedness then and ours today. God has never failed to judge stiffnecked rebellion, and He never will.

Amen, John. The book of Amos is a good snapshot of Western society today.
In that case bro, upon your recommendation, I will endeavour to read the whole book today.

As wet as it's in this state, I think the farmers can only plant rice❗
