US death rates from suicide, alcohol, and drug overdose skyrocket to all-time high
A new study confirms that deaths from drugs, alcohol, and/or suicide have reached record numbers.

According to the 2019 Scorecard on State Health System Performance, a study released by the Commonwealth Fund on Wednesday, the opioid epidemic and drug-related deaths continue to rise throughout the United States at alarming rates. West Virginia and Ohio notably out-pace the rest of the country.

With the highest rate of drug overdose deaths (57.8 per 100,000 residents) and the sharpest overdose mortality growth in recent history (10.5 deaths per 100,000 in 2005 to 57.8 in 2017 — a five-fold increase), West Virginia is by far the state hit the hardest by this crisis. ...

Dear Gay,
I'm so sorry to hear of your condition. I would urge you to search out the latest research - this can easily be found on YouTube - TedX talks for a start...
There are things you can do to help.... I shall remember you before the Omnipotent Throne.
Much love.

Dolores thanks for your expression which alerted me, as I hadn't read all the posts last few days.

Gay, I am so sorry that you won’t be posting much anymore and I do understand your problem. My sister died from Alzheimer’s, and a few Uncles and I am aware of what it can do. I enjoy the fellowship as well, minus a few. Will be praying for you and your family. Much love in Christ.

I've heard that too, for family members understandably often don't want that getting publicized. And there's "Suicide by Cop."

Some cops say almost all their calls now involve drugs in some way. Narcan (AKA Naloxone) is standard equipment. Sometimes they get accidental overdoses of Fentanyl, say by searching a car, since it's incredibly concentrated; just a pinch of it is too much.

Very hard to determine suicide deaths, since they are rarely reported on official records like death certificates. Recently, a TV news reporter died at age 56, first news report was shock and astonishment, that he was very involved in the community, not a recluse or known drug user. Later, it was revealed he killed himself due to a belief he was coming down with a disease common in his family line.
Now, if we go back to his official death certificate, I am sure we will not see that Suicide is Cause of Death.
Someone might jump off a bridge, but was he pushed by his enemy, someone he owed money to? All hard to determine, and never show up on death certificates.

this looks as good a place to say this as any, im not sure if i mentioned i was suspected and tested by my doctor for dementia about 13 years ago, i thought he was just giving a junk diagnosis because the ct scans were normal, yet i have suffered a steady decline, my family are keenly aware of my decline, yet to me it seems not so because my memory of past events seems sharper than ever with me remembering things i had long forgot, yet my current memory of new things seems to have evaporated much and i am even having trouble remembering what clothing or food i have just bought, that being said i still seem to be receiving the blessing of edification on certain beliefs which held me back.
i probably wont be posting much as im trying to be here in fellowship, yet i feel im not doing much by commenting, and probably doing harm somehow.
i hope everyone here finishes the race set before us with much joy and blessings from God
Early-onset Alzheimer's may be more inheritable. Alzheimer's disease does run in some families, particularly in early onset cases in which someone gets the disease well before the age of 65
my Grandfather passed away from Alzheimer's
i got medical insurance this month and can finally go to a doctor after 13 years
