13 dead, including gunman, in shooting at Virginia Beach Municipal Center
A longtime city employee shot and killed 12 people and injured at least four others after opening fire Friday afternoon in the public works building, making it the country's deadliest mass shooting this year.

Police said officers killed the man, identified Saturday morning as DeWayne Craddock, a long-time engineer with the city, after he fired at them in the city's scenic Municipal Center in Princess Anne, a campus of about 30 brick Colonial-style buildings.

The four injured were all in surgery Friday, Police Chief James Cervera said during a news conference a couple of hours after the massacre. ...

Nope, but I figured I'd just missed those parts of the fair and balanced reporting. I'm sure it was just a mass-oversight; a glitch. I'm sure they meant well.

On a normal day, in normal times, there's never any reason to mention any person's skin color, unless some criminal is loose on the streets. There wasn't any need in this case, either, but your point is taken, because when one is always vilified, and the silence on another is deafening, then there's a wicked agenda under foot.

There is plenty of proof that the statistics used to come to the conclusion of the article that was put out by Mother Jones (the source for the claim)were manipulated and misreported.

It is a statistical fact that black men commit most of the murders despite being less than ten percent of the population

But you know what Jim, unlike you, we don’t believe that the reason people commit crimes is due to the pigmentation of their skin but the depravity of their heart.

WFP, interesting comments, only I think that many shooters have not been teenagers. Most have been adults? I will say that the college graduate who carried out this latest shooting, was a Black rather then a White.
John Haltiwanger wrote:
The deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history was shocking in its scale — but it wasn't a surprise that it was committed by a white male.

Statistics show that since 1982, the majority of mass shootings — 54 percent — were committed by white men, according to data from Mother Jones. [ updated to 2019 ❗]Black people were the second largest perpetrators of mass shootings based on ethnic background, but only accounted for roughly 16 percent of the total incidents during the same time period....

I have participated in a school active shooter drills for about 7 years. It used to be like a tornado drill, load everyone in small area surrounded by walls and sit Indian styled and put a book over your head. That led to more deaths and casualties, because often classroom doors were kept unlocked to allow students to leave and come back to room. Now schools are becoming hardened shelters of learning. We are a violent society without rules. The era of being safe with guns died decades ago. There are too many guns that you can buy, trade or steal. And the men who kills, are merely boys who hate everyone.

Of course this wasn't a school shooting, but the audience that was presented the message mentioned earlier weren't schoolchildren anyway ❗

'On a quiet afternoon somewhere in America, a couple of dozen employees gathered for an all-staff meeting.
Key points:

"Today, we're going to be learning what to do in the event of an active shooter," the boss said...

"We've brought in a special guest. She's an expert on this."

The expert was Kayleigh, an 11-year-old girl with blonde hair and blue overalls.

As she enters the room, the employees smiled, thinking it's a joke.

But they traded those expressions for gasps as Kayleigh offered detailed instructions in a calm, authoritative tone.

"If there was an active shooter, you would all be dead," she said.

"When you talk out loud, the shooter can hear where you are and where you're hiding."

Kayleigh continued to outline tips for dealing with an armed attacker — things like pushing chairs against the doors, what to listen for to detect the shooter's location, breaking and climbing out broken windows.

A few of her shocked adult students were moved to tears.

Some look away in discomfort. All were silent.

Kayleigh finished with a rhyme she learnt from her elementary school teacher, singing softly:

"Lockdown, lockdown, let's all hide. Lock the doors and stay inside."

The message: this is what American children learn at school.'
