New HHS Rule Protects Pro-Life Health Care Workers
A year after establishing a new division to safeguard health care workers’ freedom of religion and freedom of conscience, the Trump Administration has formalized protections for those who decline to participate in certain medical treatments like abortion, sterilization, or assisted suicide due to their faith or moral convictions.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) proposed the new rule last January (see below) and issued a final version in a 440-page document on Thursday. The policy is meant to provide stronger protections and more guidance around enforcing conscience protections passed by Congress, according to HHS. ...

Also, Vp, since you brought it up; the Israelites were not forbidden to have “fellowship and alliances” with all Gentiles, just those who dwelt among them or were in close proximity

Thanks for your response, Vp. One would hope you realize three things

1. We are not in a Jewish Theocracy

2. We are electing people to fulfill a role as a civil servant to represent us in government, not a person to be a spiritual leader in any sense of the term

3. People are responsible for their own actions, the Bible says we will give account for ourselves not the actions of another. You vote everyday to support the ungodly with the way you choose to spend your money, that doesn’t make you part and parcel of any transgressions they commit

Considering that there are many who post here who vote and that your claim is baseless you might want to consider walking it back
I am not aware of a single word I wrote which ought to be taken back. I can only hope and pray that those whose pattern of political participation is such that they would take offense are also mature enough to think carefully about how God responded when his people entered into fellowship and alliances with Gentile nations.

Also, a vote that cast at the ballot box under a democracy is a positive approval. It is tantamount to saying "this man is worthy to hold office and is worthy to be called my representative".

Very Privileged, even the liberals acknowledge your vote makes a difference

the Bible says Galatians 6:10

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good to all men, especially to them who are of the household of faith

One of the places at which we have that opportunity is at the ballot box not just in the prayer closet or evangelization. None of the previously mentioned items are unimportant and none of them cancels out the other.

It can be easily demonstrated that God works through means throughout the Scriptures. For instance if you read in Nehemiah, the builders made their supplication unto God and armed themselves.

Nehemiah 4:9  Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.

We live in a secular society, the people who provide the internet service and device you use to access it may not live a godly life but that does not stop you from going through them to obtain your device and using it to access the internet. You don’t feel accountable for their actions even though you are voting for them with your pocketbook. Same applies to your government. You are “very privileged” to live in a country where you have a voice in your own government, don’t squander it.

Too bad a rule takes 440 pages to say what could be said in 440 words. Or less.

I wholeheartedly agree. Can not King Jesus ask His subjects to use the Democratic ballot box if He chooses? Isn't your one vote a potential tool of righteousness as much as your one dollar of unrighteous mammon can be used not only for your benefit but for the benefit of others?
You certainly can attempt to exercise influence at the ballot box, and ought to take your faith with you if and when you do.

However, an awful lot of our politicians have repeatedly demonstrated a tendency to lie, cheat, steal, blaspheme, give dubious professions of faith, practice and/or make excuses for adultery, engage in slander and misrepresentation of others who have been set in positions of power and authority, and spread war and strife abroad. To go out to the ballot box and cast votes for such men is an easy way to get entangled in their sins (even if you suppose that you can resist wickedness by voting in what seems to be a lesser evil), and it is something which we are ultimately accountable to God for.

Voting Republican at this point appears to be about on par with Israel allying with the Egyptians in an attempt to fend off the Assyrians.
And, the one-hundred-millionth of a say that is your vote is among the most ineffectual of means available to influence political outcomes. I would much rather favor the plan that involves placing Christ's Kingdom and Righteousness ahead of one's own, preaching the Law along with the Gospel, calling the nation to Repentance, giving godly counsel to men, chastising [and where warranted, rejecting] those who preach compromise and worldly thinking, and leaving the outcome of the political process in the very capable hands of King Jesus.

If Christians stop sleeping, complaining, and get off their do-nothings and vote this can become law.

If we have a Democratic President, Senate, and House of Representatives after the 2020 election, there will be NO legal protection for Christians anywhere, at any time, in any way, or in any situation. Freedom of religion and freedom of speech will be lost, and probably lost forever. I’m not asking you to vote for a Republican, but for heaven’s sake vote against every Democrat you can!
