Teen Vogue pushes prostitution as legit profession
Teen Vogue is pushing the idea that prostitution is acceptable to its young readers.

In a Friday op-ed called "Why Sex is Real Work," Tlaleng Mofokeng, a medical doctor, noted that sex tourist destination Amsterdam will soon legally bar guided tours through the red light district but that many "sex workers," — a euphemism for prostituted persons but is often used to include brothel keepers and pornographers — are opposing the ban.

"Not all sex workers engage in penetrative sex, though, undeniably, that is a big part of sex work. Sex-worker services between consenting adults may include companionship, intimacy, nonsexual role playing, dancing, escorting, and stripping. These roles are often pre-determined, and all parties should be comfortable with them," she explained. ...

Gay Allen, yes! This is probably why we have to hear about those male enhancement products on our local am radio stations in the middle of the day. Man has so corrupted sex that people are incapacitated from the overwhelming assault of nasty images ad nauseum.
"Immodesr" to some is actually "naked" in Scripture. We like to have it our way though.
If we saw some pervert ogling our wives, sisters and daughters while they are "just" wearing shorts,we might reconsider.
SC, I agree! Unless she was turning tricks in the parking lot, she was simply a very carnal woman; not a prostitute.

Gay Allen, yes! This is probably why we have to hear about those male enhancement products on our local am radio stations in the middle of the day. Man has so corrupted sex that people are incapacitated from the overwhelming assault of nasty images ad nauseum.

Check out the Cambridge dictionary, and a few others and you will see it. For example, the Cambridge has the secondary useage as:

Prostitute:

to use yourself or your abilities or beliefs in a way that does not deserve respect, especially in order to get money:
(eg.) Some critics say he prostituted his musical skills by going into pop rather than staying with classical music.

Pilgrim, I figured that's what you meant, but I had a hard time putting the words together also. It's not an expression that is used very much these days, but I believe most people would understand if it was used.

what they don't tell you in vogue: sometimes a brothel you are working at will have a "sale" or "special offer" to get loads of men in there, these men like sick and twisted perversions and this is why they are still single because they are miscreants and psychopaths, well anyway on a sale night they will literally get hit with buss after buss of "sex tourists" who get bored of the same old whores after a time and want adventure, after having so many sick customers in a single night many women quit and have breakdowns, its not a job or work in the oldest profession like it used to be, its downright sick sex slavery, in the old days it was sinful fornication, adultery, sewing to the flesh, now a days its like something out of silence of the lambs .....
where you will be asked to accommodate "buffalo bill" in his twisted desire to become a woman ...

There can be no doubt that the verb 'prostitute' can refer to more than the usual. There are some references in the Bible, for example to go 'a whoring'. We might prefer the term committing 'spiritual adultery'.

But for sure, anyone seeking financial gain through a specific unworthy method, that is, unworthy of respect, can be described as prostituting himself or herself, as the dictionaries describe it as a secondary meaning of the word.

Of course you are correct. I never would say that; immodest yes, prostitution, no. I'm sure most women who wear shorts are not trying to be immodest and unless they are really short and tight, it doesn't even make me ponder.

True story! We just came back from a neighborhood walmart. In the parking lot, a woman with a thong bathing suit was standing behind her vehicle with a male.
Her whole butt was sticking out. Very immodest, but definitely not prostitution.

Frank, if every woman who is motivated at least in part by the prospect of financial security in her selection of a husband thereby becomes a whore, then I daresay that takes in almost every woman who has ever been married. Maybe you should make that lasso a bit smaller. You may be catching critters you didn’t aim to.

It was Rudyard Kipling who is renowned for coming up with the quote, "Oldest profession in the world" - Being a description of prostitution.

But perhaps an older one is fruit picking!!
Which led to sin.

However this led to sex and marriage and from that the abuse of both!

But what about your 529 college savings plan to send them to college. Will they be isolated from all the other teens who have been reading garbage like this? Will they be isolated from all such influences?
Better to start saving in your IRA instead!

Thanks Frank for your answer. On men being modest I would say that our bodies are said to be temples of God and all should live in all areas point men to Christ and not to draw needless attention to ourselves. No verses that specifically address it as there is for women

Brother Luke 17:10 I can’t give scriptural support for my comment. But, I also can’t give direct scriptural support for not using heroin.

I also understand the legal definition of prostitution; selling sex for money. This was not meant to be legal!

Here is my reasoning. Let’s say a woman has a job and if she sleeps with her boss, because she can get a promotion. The promotion relates to money that she will receive. So, was sleeping with her boss to get more money a form of legal prostitution? Now what if a woman doesn’t love a man who is rich, but she has a chance to marry him because of his wealth. If she does that because he has money and she will have access to it, is that not a form of legal prostitution? Now there are bars, wing houses, strip clubs etc. in my area where women work and they dress very skimpily. They do that because they will get paid to show their bodies. I consider this also to be a form of prostitution, but I think someone can disagree with this last one.

Which scripture are you using to show that modesty applies to men? I know there are men prostitutes, but do you think they are so common that you would find it necessary to say “and men”? If you find one that “might” relate to men; I can find 20 that definitely relates to women.
