College Women Should Have Abortions to ‘Stay on Track,’ Calif. Bill Says
A California bill that would force public universities to provide women easy access to the abortion pill so they can “stay on track” passed a legislative committee Wednesday.

The bill, SB 24, passed the state Senate education committee 5-2, three weeks after it also passed the Senate health committee, 7-2. Its next stop is the appropriations committee.

If passed, it would require “each student health care services clinic” on a “California State University or University of California campus” to “offer abortion by medication techniques,” according to the bill’s text. Each campus would receive a grant of $200,000.

There are more than 400,000 female students within California’s public university system. ...

Absolute satanic. When I get married my wife will obtain a College Nursing Degree but she will not become a nurse. She will be the vocalist in my Country Music/Country Gospel Band. Then when I have children and they learn to play the guitar, the fiddle, the steel guitar and the drum then they will become part of my band. It will be a family band.

I would argue that if parents are willing to send their kids thru school, they should be willing to do so whether they are married or not.

Thanks for your comment! I have never really pondered folks getting married while they were attending school. That would mean that neither were likely gainfully employed? When I went to college, most of my courses were at night using the GI bill, so I worked in the daytime.

I personally have no idea how to solve your dilemma except they should abstain.

I believe that pornography is perhaps the greatest evil against marriage. Men are easily addicted and then start thinking of women as purely objects instead of God's precious creation.

""California State University or University of California campus” to “offer abortion by medication techniques,”"

The 'cost' of education?

Quote:-
"We should begin by asking the question, “When does life begin?”

Scientific advances enable us to know the moment an egg is fertilized, when the embryo attaches to the lining of the uterus, and when a baby’s heart first beats in its mother’s womb. All the genetic information you and I possess existed at the moment of conception.

All we will become is present from the first instant that the mother’s egg is fertilized by the father’s sperm. This includes personality, body size, color of eyes and hair, basic intellect, etc.

Science indicates that the baby’s brain begins functioning enough to generate measurable brain waves (electroencephalographic [EEG] impulses) at 40 days. Additionally, the baby’s facial muscles move, even appearing to form “smiles” as early as 12 weeks.

Leaders on both sides of the political debate acknowledge that science has uncovered many amazing things about human life, but science alone cannot settle the ultimate questions about the sanctity of life." (Tony Perkins) (answersingenesis)

JAG,

Yes, if a woman desired a college education for the purpose of teaching her children, there is nothing wrong with that. Thanks for adding that! And, you and I both know that is rarely the goal or the case.

QC,

Yes, scripture says men and women were created for each other. The woman was to be the helpmate to her husband and the husband was to rule. The curse said that women would desire to dominate their husbands, which is what we see today, but the husband was still to lead.

Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

Very true...

Yet on the same point, I personally believe that if a young lady can get an ONLINE college degree fostered to a home based subject (teaching, english, management) it will save them possible headache, and heartache in the future...

How? Because as the homeschool "movement" grows the state governments are implementing tighter controls on the families. Many states require you to have graduated High school to legally teach your kids, and many more states are also trying to pass laws that would require you to have a college degree (like teachers in school are required too). If a young lady has that degree, than she will be better equipped to face the challenges her time of homeschooling may bring...

On the point of going to a physical college, I think neither men nor women should be attending, living, or commuting to college. It's a concentrated den of vipers, all their same age, and designed to liberalize the students. Online college is the better choice. Especially now that the whole academics is slowly moving towards online based learning. There are hundreds of colleges offering online degrees for much better prices than attendin

Amen, Dr. Tim.

Frank, as always, you raise excellent points. There are lots of reasons women attend college:

1. Find a husband. At least the "Mrs" degree was a driving force when I was young. Plus, an educated woman was equated with educated future children in the eyes of the world.

2. Have a backup plan when the marriage fails. And they fail way too often. So a separate life is insurance against adultery while providing more opportunities for the wife to become ensnared.

3. Christians in our circles very often and very wrongly equate a college education to godliness. There is a lot of pressure for kids to keep up, girls included.

4. The Mary Tyler Moore lie. Girls are supposed to grow up and stand on their own two feet. This is the feminism you mentioned, Frank. The reality is that neither men nor women are supposed to stand on their own but were designed and set up for marriage. Even in Eden, Adam needed Eve, and vica versa.

Let’s argue that in an ideal Christian situation, a woman should desire to be married, have children, and then be a keeper at home providing for her husband and her children. In the event that she has free time, then she could devote herself to some charitable cause.

My thought is that most women who are attending college are obviously going so they can be part of the workforce. And, it costs thousands of dollars to do this. They do not want to be completely dependent on their husbands, so they are in the workforce; separate incomes and retirement plans. I remember my oldest daughter graduating from a Christian H.S. in 1989 or 1990 and there were no girl speakers who said their goal was to be a wife and mother; not even one.

Prior to WW2 the feminist movement existed, but now it has literally taken over our culture. Even on this forum, some will mention Deborah or the Proverbs 31 woman and use what they see as exceptions to make a new rule. Most pastors and all politicians will not speak out against this blasphemy. The feminist movement has won!

A woman was created to be a helpmate to her husband. Not to murder their unborn children so they can compete against men instead of complimenting them.

Our church, as well as many others across the country, have begun taking the initiative to address our civil magistrates on the gospel and the Scripture's condemnation of abortion.
You can search YouTube for

to view instances. This is one responsible effort to be salt and light to our communities.

As I think about what would slow or stop abortions, the only conclusion I could come up with is to make sex, outside marriage, against the law.

I really don't think the people who invent these sorts of things have got much between the ears. Certainly with regard to wisdom, on a scale of one to ten, they would score a zero.

Maybe we ought to just encourage college-aged kids of both genders to get married and start families while pursuing higher education?

But if they cannot abstain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn. - 1 Corinthians 7:9
