Franklin Graham tells 2020 candidate Pete Buttigieg to repent
One of the country’s most well-known evangelical Christians, Franklin Graham, said Pete Buttigieg, an openly gay 2020 presidential candidate, should “repent.”

Graham called homosexuality a “sin” and “something to be repentant of, not something to be flaunted, praised or politicized,” in a tweet Wednesday.

In a CNN town hall Tuesday, Buttigieg said, “I get that one of the things about Scripture is different people see different things in it.”

“At the very least we should be able to establish that God does not have a political party,” the South Bend, Indiana, mayor said at the town hall. ...

It should be added,

Nancy Beck Young wrote:
...Neither Billy Graham nor Goldwater had much patience for the vitriolic, religion-based politics of the Christian right. Graham believed it imperative for clergy to separate themselves from politics. In 1981, he wrote in Parade magazine: “I don’t want to see religious bigotry in any form. It would disturb me if there was a wedding between the religious fundamentalists and the political right. The hard right has no interest in religion except to manipulate it.”

Goldwater, for his part, rejected the attacks on sexual identity that now pervade the 21st century Christian right. By the end of his life, Goldwater advocated for gay rights, remarking in 1994: “When you say ‘radical right’ today, I think of these moneymaking ventures by fellows like Pat Robertson and others who are trying to take the Republican Party away from the Republican Party and make a religious organization out of it. If that ever happens, kiss politics goodbye.” ...

If you read the article that SA used, I will agree completely with what Frankie Graham said. Then I heard the end of a sermon on the Internet Sunday night, and the preacher attacked this mayor also.

Just one big problem with Frankie and others who want to preach on particular sins--the politically correct ones, that appeals to their biggest givers!

They want to conveniently forget the sins that their well-heeled givers want to have ignored of the politicians they support?

https://tinyurl.com/y42lzodv (What is Your Bosom Sin?) from which,

Pastor Andrew Webb wrote:
...here is a simple definition from Thomas Watson: “That sin which has most power over a man, and most easily leads him captive, is the beloved of the soul. There are some sins which a man can better put off and repulse; but there is one sin, which, if it becomes a suitor he cannot deny, but is overcome by it: this is the bosom sin.”...
https://tinyurl.com/9gvr7du (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)

They should notice that greed is listed ❗ Greed may be bosom sin of many religious peddlers?

I don't think there will be any reaction to Graham--sodomites like the mayor will not want to increase his publicity. Some of them are violently opposed to anyone who stands up against them, so there is no telling what they will do. At least some vandalism of Graham's offices is to be expected.
Now if he went after the Somali woman from Minnesota who 'married' her brother so he could enter this country, then more serious consequences would happen.

Benjamin is right! 🎉🎉🎉 which means we might have another nerdy Methodist kid. 🤓🎉🎉

Or do we??? Sonic is not his real name 😱 (That’s strike one) when I said where he’s from I meant where he was born (That’s strike 2)

So Benjamin, you need to step up your game, but if you can tell me the name of his fox friend I’ll cut you some slack.

Hey, only nerdy Methodist kids know these things, since I can’t have social media I have to talk about this somewhere. 🤓

I agree with you. I voted for Trump because as a "stated" conservative I felt he would pander to folks like me. My goal was that his pandering would result in just one little life being saved. In my mind, if that happened then my vote would be justified.

But, I don't believe that pandering to a political agenda is in any way bearing Christian fruit.

“Dr. Tim, leave Conor7 alone. He's probably some nerdy Methodist kid who's not allowed to have social media so he posts stuff on here.”

“He might be busy getting ready, spraying his 24" comb-over with maximum strength Aquanet, and also giving his hog a pedicure for tonight's village dance-off, so I'll go ahead and answer for him.”

This is going to be stuck in my head all day now, oy vey...Now I’m going to have dreams of a nerdy Methodist hog with a comb over, getting a manicure and a pedicure to a village dance off...a sort of weird twisted hillbilly anthropomorphic version of High School Musical.

If I’m going to dream about hogs, I’d rather it be a blue hedgehog. The first one to gets that reference tell me his name, and where he is from... and no cheating, don’t look it up on the internet.

(Hey, I was called nerdy so I had to add something semi nerdy) 🤓

That actually is a very true and honest statement. No, the GOP is not the "Party Of Jesus"; the DFL & GOP are both just as debauched and wicked, only one shows it more easily than the other.
Anyone who believes that the GOP is the Party Of Jesus, is just plain backwards and stupid! Godless bunch of sinners putting on a religious facade.
I do agree though, Buttigieg needs to repent.
True

1 Corinthians 6
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous1 will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: xneither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,

10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.---ESV

These verses apply to both parties!

He doesn't use any of those things to shoot them. He just gets real low to the ground, tilts his head, and they roll out of his ear. One of his mutations is a finger that grew out of his earlobe that spasms all the time, so when the marble rolls out, the mutant finger flicks it.

""Buttigieg said, “I get that one of the things about Scripture is different people see different things in it.”"

The problem that Buttigieg has is that ALL reprobates, including him, cannot read the Bible. What he is referring to is the mortal mind dominated by sin choosing their own interpretations.

However mortal man is blind - alienated from the life of God and ignorant of the truth. Eph 4:18.

Even if Buttigeig did become 'normal' in his sexual habits he would still have to repent of his sinful life. To do this he would have to be converted to the truth - he must be born again, which clearly he is not.

Quote:-
"Thirdly, We may consider the subject of true repentance, what it is. It is a convinced believing soul. An unconvinced sinner cannot be a true penitent; for what the eye sees not, the heart rues not. Neither can an unbelieving sinner be so; for without faith the heart may be rent for sin, but not from it" (Thos. Boston)

_____

Whilst we still have false churches such as the Anglican-Episcopalian fallacy 'Denying' repentance, we will have many sodomites thinking they are safe.

What a great comment and every point you made is correct.

In God's eyes, liberal, moderates, conservatives, etc. are all the same unless they are in Christ. Total depravity doesn't mean all are the same, but none of them can do anything to please our heavenly Father. They can't bear fruit.

Oh, and Franklin Graham is a cultural Christian hireling, so I never care what he says or does.

Ok JL,
so if we’re not allowed to tell others to repent and follow the gospel, even as forgiven sinners, ( rich and poor alike , since we are in the bonds of love as those joined in Spirit), then what’s so great about the gospel .
By your definition, Who gets to decide who’s righteous enough to tell the gospel. Under that pharisaical form it’ll be as if there was no Virgin birth, no cross , no death, no resurrection and of course No Jesus.
