Pastors face orders to watch if parents deprive kids of 'warmth'
California lawmakers are proposing a change in the state’s mandated-reporters law that would require pastors to notify police if they believe parents are failing to provide enough emotional “warmth” for their children.

Or “attention.”

Or “normal living experiences.”

The law currently requires teachers and others who have an ongoing relationship with families to contact authorities with suspicions of child abuse. ...

He was busted by Lord Jeffreys, presumably for being politically incorrect somehow.
Yes you're quite right Neil.

It wouldn't do for an IFB to launch straight out into the deep, and Baxter, being an amyraldian-style might make the transition a bit easier.

No, on second thoughts, it may make it harder. He held a sort of universal hypothetical atonement where Christ died for all men, while believing that Christ's death could only be effective in the elect who believe. Something like that.

Oh, but I believe something like that.

Reminds me of that dream I had, when I set off from home and found myself at an IFB bookstore, and was looking through the books and found one called "The Pastorate: How To Lord It Over God's Little Flock" by Y. H. Haughton. Maybe it was a prophetic dream.

In the real world, a better book to read by anyone, including IFB's, would be "The Reformed Pastor" by Richard Baxter. In fact, any book which propounded the Doctrines of Grace and the Free and Sovereign Will of God, and such things as TULIP, by men like Henry T Mahan, Charles Spurgeon and J. C. Ryle, would be especially helpful to IFB's and any others who deny such presently, the Lord being gracious to all who seek the truth in the word of God, whereas all who deny the truth and have no taste for it, God delivers them up to the lie, believing the lie and loving the lie, God justly condemning such, especially when scripture is so clear (at least, to them that are born again of the Spirit).
