Pete Buttigieg’s Very Public Faith Is Challenging Assumptions
What makes Pete Buttigieg an intriguing figure isn’t his political experience, which is minimal (he became mayor of South Bend in 2012, at age of 29); or his political philosophy, with which I disagree. (He’s a progressive, while I’m a conservative who is a critic of Donald Trump and of progressivism.) It’s that Buttigieg speaks openly and easily about his Christian faith in a party that is becoming increasingly secular and religiously unaffiliated, and he does so in a manner that stands in marked contrast with the evangelical leaders who support Donald Trump.

Buttigieg is challenging the assumptions of a lot of people.

Start with those in the Democratic Party. Buttigieg, an Episcopalian who studied under Sacvan Bercovitch, the renowned scholar of Puritan America, is willing to speak about God before nonreligious audiences in a way that is natural. I don’t sense that his faith is being used ...

Why does SermonAudio show news item and not even protest that Buttigieg cannot be a Biblical Christian because he is an unrepentant practicing homosexual 'married' to another man? Very dissappointing.

I am somewhat surprised that SermonAudio used an article from the looney left Atlantic magazine. The “christian” who wrote this is alleging that sodomite Pete Buttigieg is a Christian and sensible guy but President Trump and his supporters are big hypocritical Christians who over look sin. It is a mere hit piece on Trump, his followers and his policies and portraying them as what he views as being not Christian beliefs. The author obviously has no understanding of the Bible or true Christianity. The author even views the best understanding of the Biblical view on homosexuality was written by a person who is not a Christian.

Mike, just wondering, what makes you think that "the church" (not sure what you mean by that term) is not upset about a sodomite running for President? I am can say with certainty any Christian I would ask about it would not think it to be a good thing. We live in a fallen world, run by unregenerate men, openly sodomite people have run for and been in office for a lone time.

Luk 17:26  And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man….
Luk 17:28  Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot;

The improvements made to our town by Pete Buttigieg have been what I consider to be none other than counterproductive. The "smart" streets cause grid locks in the downtown area and now it takes twice as long to get through the city. No worries though because it only cost the taxpayers around 40 million. The crime rate has gone up considerably during his term also. Our property taxes have gone up astronomically. South Bend is going to be another ghost town if it sees another Demoncrat. Why isn't the church outraged over a sodomite running for president? He was the son of a full fledged communist. The Bible teaches there is another Jesus so the faith Pete Buttigieg is referring to is the other jesus that made him a sodomite, the father of lies. Come on Christian, wake up! And why is SermonAudio promoting this guy anyway? At least it seems that way to me.

Those who believe that truth is progressive will by their own definition never arrive at absolute truth since by their own definition their truth is subject to change; therefore it can’t be absolutely true. So simply ask them if they are absolutely sure there is no such thing as absolute truth. They can’t say yes to this question and they can’t say no. If they say yes, then they are contradicting their thoughts because they are saying they are in fact “absolutely sure” of their statement. If they say no, then they are directly denying the assertion they just made. That means their position must in fact be wrong. They base this thought in the concept that truth lies within each of us individually and therefore what might be true and binding to one person isn’t necessarily true and binding on someone else. This could easily be thought of as the agnosticism of truth.

The answer was in my post. Catholic churches do not perform same sex weddings regardless of the fact that it is a false religion. The Episcopalians would and did.

Trevor Loudon did a short video at The New American that provides some background to Mayor Buttigieg. His ties to Democratic Socialists of America and his jump from Catholicism to Episcopalianism to "marry" another man. Mayor Buttigieg is the new weapon. He is being promoted cause he is a homosexual who holds to a religious expression that gives space for sodomy something the bible calls an abomination. People would do well not to engage him without complete shrewdness and a tough skin.

1 Timothy 1:12-17 KJV
(12)  And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;
(13)  Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
(14)  And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
(15)  This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
(16)  Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
(17)  Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

I was part of Campus Crusade at Notre Dame during the 70’s until they were kicked off campus. Gregg Allison the professor out of Louisville and with the Evangelical Theological Society was head of Crusade there for many years. He wrote the excellent book on Catholicism.

I graduated from Notre Dame where his cultural marxist father taught along with his mom. We have produced many local public access TV shows exposing Mayor Pete over the last 6 years. They are uploaded on youtube under my name on my channel: peter helland
Pete's dad was a Jesuit who it seems became more like an atheist through Piere de Chardan the Catholic heretic priest promoting radical evolution. This article is sucking people in to accept Buttigieg. Not good. Watch my channel to see the critiques of Mayor Pete.
