Brazil's President: 'We are God-Fearing Men'
After years of leftist rule, the 63-year-old former paratrooper-turned politician is the first conservative president in Brazil's democratic era.

"To a large extent, I support what Trump does; He wants to make America great, I also want to make Brazil great. I also have concerns about the indiscriminate entrance of foreigners without any criteria. But beyond this, we are both Christians and we are God-fearing men,” he explained.

Bolsonaro's middle name is “Messias”, Portuguese for "Messiah". He's a Catholic and his wife, Michelle, is a protestant evangelical who attends a Baptist church.

An assassination attempt by a knife-wielding attacker a month before the election almost cost Bolsonaro his life. He says it is nothing short of a miracle that he's alive today. ...

Christian Post has another article today about the US evangelical leaders like Pat Robertson and Jonathan Falwell that met with the Brazilian president.

Good points, Chris and Dr. Tim.
Brazil is at a crucial time to get better and with President Bolosnaro, I think they will. I wouldn't look to any American media source to reflect their reality, since all they can see is that he is a conservative and they hate that. They have already painted him as a "Brazilian Trump" to make sure no other world leader tries to do the same thing.
I've always thought the Most Interesting Night of Live TV was watching the major networks cover the election of Donald Trump in November 2016.
I did hope that they would 'spin around' and start covering who voted for him, why they voted that way, why they didn't vote for Hilary, why young people and blacks did not show up for Hilary, etc.
No, that was a vain hope--since they are not journalists reporting on Reality. They are ideologues who can only see Reality through their tinted glasses.
To admit that they were wrong on Trump all the way up to Election Night was too much for them to handle.
Instead, they started beating the drums for their few supporters to get rid of Trump. Do you remember all the issues?
The same thing is happening with President Bolsonaro.
By the way, anyone know where I can get a Bolsonaro Make Brazil Great Again hat?

1st of President Bolsonaro is Catholic, he is certainly completely out of sorts with the current Jesuit Leftist Interfaith Pope Francis , as their ideas are completely opposed to each other.

2nd, it is true that the majority of Brazilian evangelicals are Pentecostal, and tragically much of that is prosperity geared.

However, we must not tar everyone with the same brush. There are very godly traditional Pentecostals whose doctrines I may not totally agree with, but who are completely opposed to the wicked liberal leftist LGBT / Transgender / abortion / euthanasia / globalist / environmentalist / pro- Islam agenda.

They also support cracking down on crime and drugs, and what Mr Lincoln is wrong with that?

Yes, of course theonomy and dominionism are wrong, because you cannot have the kingdom without the King. However, this is not dominionism, but a responsible President carrying his duty.

Jim, it’s sad that Toys R Us went out of business. Your raves on dominionism show that you have completely lost your marbles. The “facts” you presented are not facts at all, but fallacious fearmongering by left-wing radicals bent on destroying every vestige of Christian influence in America. Like all of your uber-liberal buddies, you are a naughty boy who needs nothing more than a good spanking.

There is no Dominionism, Jim. It's a red herring from the Progressives who are trying to accuse Christians of doing what they, the Progressiv3s, are attempting to do. It's like calling conservative Christians Nazis, when the Progressives are the real national socialists.

Theonomy has been, rightly, discredited.

Otherwise, the basis of our criminal code is based on Christian morwl principles already, although twisted by Progressives through their law making abilities to make evil right and right wrong.

I think much of Frank's comments caught the nature of the man, the new president of Brazil, very well. However, one should look at the people he is representing the Dominionists, this false theology is affecting several countries. Apparently we have to include Brazil with United States.
Frederick Clarkson wrote:
It is important to underscore that dominionism, even as it evolves, is not a passing fashion but an historic trend. This trend featured fierce theological battles in the 1980s that pitted the largely apolitical pre-millennial dispensationalism that characterized most of 20th century evangelicalism against a politicized, dominion-oriented postmillennialism.
excerpt from, "Dominionism Rising: A Theocratic Movement Hiding in Plain Sight"

Mr. Clarkson must of done a lot of work on the topic he had a long quotation in the second article I mentioned and apparently, the first article which is referenced above is entirely by him?

"Dominionism Rising: A Theocratic Movement Hiding in Plain Sight"---Frederick Clarkson

Its length and breadth equals quite a few articles on Rapidnet, e.g.,

BDM wrote:
The significance of the Reconstructionist movement is not its numbers, but the power of its ideas and their surprisingly rapid acceptance. Many on the Christian Right are unaware that they hold Reconstructionist ideas. Because as a theology it is controversial, even among evangelicals, many who are consciously influenced by it avoid the label.... Reconstructionism seeks to replace democracy with a theocratic elite that would govern by imposing their interpretation of "Biblical Law." Reconstructionism would eliminate not only democracy but many of its manifestations, such as labor unions, civil rights laws, and public schools. Insufficiently Christian men would be denied citizenship,... So severe is this theocracy that it would extend capital include, among other things, blasphemy, heresy, adultery, and homosexuality ("Christian Reconstructionism: Theocratic Dominionism... -- Overview and Roots," by Frederick Clarkson,...)....

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. - Proverbs 1:7

At least they are at the beginning of knowledge, but need to progress toward its End, the Lord Jesus and Him crucified for sinners like me then how that changes our hearts and lives.

This guy is really interesting, esp. coming from a country ruled by leftists for so long. He has a long uphill climb, but a lot of Brazilians like him already for putting the crooked politicians in jail (too bad our beloved President Trump can't do the same with lying Hillary Clinton!).
The support he has received from some evangelical pastors is also interesting, in a country that is mostly Catholic (though a lot of that is mixed in with the African religion that is very present in Bahia, and they have conferences there attended by people from all over the world, like the Cubans who practice santeria and Haitians with their voodoo.)
I think the evangelical church in Brazil is very different from the ones we are familiar with in the US, much more charismatic and pentecostal. I've heard of one such church in Sao Paolo, Brazil that built a copy of Solomon's Temple for their meeting place.

What a confusing article! This fellow claims he is a Christian and yet he is unapologetic catholic. His wife claims she is a Christian and yet she married this fellow. All of us make mistakes, so perhaps his wife had a weak moment or was saved later? Anyway, this represents the new Christianity that is spreading rapidly through much of the world. It is a Christianity that has its basis in politics and morality. It does not have its basis repenting of your sins and throwing yourself solely and with finality at the mercy of the cross.

2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

“…the 63-year-old former paratrooper-turned politician …” is nothing more than a politician. He states, “… I also have concerns about the indiscriminate entrance of foreigners without any criteria… we (WE? my own) are both Christians and we are God-fearing men,” he explained.
Bolsonaro's middle name is “Messias”, Portuguese for "Messiah". He's a Catholic … Michelle, is a protestant evangelical who attends a Baptist church.” This is meaningless! This hypocrite. This two-faced racist. This wolf in sheep’s clothing said that he would not allow his daughter to marry a black man.
He hears Trump but not the words of the Lord who said, My sheep hear my voice. Ephesians 4:3-6 tells us who is one with Christ.
He is a man of the flesh and will court other men of the flesh. Who is he to say that Trump is a Christian?
