US Universities Awash with Curriculum Aimed at 'Queering' Students
One of the most unsettling classes from a Christian perspective may be Swarthmore's religion class called "RELG 033—Queering the Bible." Here's the description:
This course surveys the queer and trans readings of biblical texts. It introduces students to the complexity of constructions of sex, gender, and identity in one of the most influential literary works produced in ancient times. By reading the Bible with the methods of queer and trans theoretical approaches, this class destabilizes the long held assumptions about the Bible—and religion—says about gender and sexuality.
There's a similar course at Pomona College college called "RLST 184—Queer Theory and the Bible." Here's what it teaches:...
""By reading the Bible with the methods of queer and trans theoretical approaches, this class destabilizes the long held assumptions about the Bible""
Satan will do anything to kill the Bible message in modern western society.
But this is just another of his scams to destroy the church and Christian witness.
Poor old Satan he is already defeated and heading for the prophetic lake of fire....
And so are his followers who write and study ignorant and blind courses like these.
Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
Frank Wrote: "They are using culture to define scripture instead of scripture defining culture."
Good comments, Frank, and I would build on the above by adding this: Even though they may be using culture to define scripture, they're having to go to great lengths in their attempts to make God's Word read the polar opposite of what it does. What I'm saying is that even though they might be trying to interpret things from their own cultural perspectives, it's not like there's some sort of confusion about what Gods Word actually says when they read it, but rather, they're forcing those cultural perspectives into God's Word, and turning it upside-down for their benefit. Once they iron out the wrinkles, and hone their arguments, they'll be able to say to all homosexuals, "See, this is what God really meant, so, take heart...God made you this way, and loves you just the way you are". Diabolical.
Still amazing how quickly all of this wickedness came about, and now here's Trump, beginning a world-wide quest to decriminalize sodomy. Reminds me of OBama when he went on his own tour to admonish world leaders for not allowing the sodomites to love whomever they choose to.
I have always thought that carnal man can make the bible say anything they want it to say. E.G., David was a man after God’s heart; David committed murder and adultery; therefore it is okay to commit adultery and murder. Scripture says Jesus was fully human; therefore He wasn’t God.
In order to arrive at truth, someone can’t have itching ears (eisegesis) and they have to use the entirety of scripture. Just look at all the cults and the confused and lost people who actually read the bible and profess to believe in it. They "must" have the Holy Spirit guiding them.
They are using culture to define scripture instead of scripture defining culture.
Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
"This course will look at how the Bible can be read productively through queer theory. We will examine biblical passages that are central to prohibitions on homosexuality and the larger discourses of heteronormativity (constructed around gender, sexuality, class, national identity, state formations, kinship, children, etc.) in which homophobic readings of the Bible emerge. We will also look at the ways in which these discourses and the identities they shore up can be "queered," as well as at biblical texts that can be read as queer friendly. This process of queering will allow and require us to approach the biblical text in new ways."
Sounds to me like this course description of, "Queer Theory and the Bible", at Pomona College, and others, is all about the LGBTQ community, bending and twisting God's Word in order to resolve the conflict between their lifestyles of choice, and what God, apparently never meant afterall. They've brought down a nation; steamrolling through the public school systems, and every other facet of society, and now for the grand tri-fecta...polluting God's own Word with their wickedness, in order to make it conform to their filthiness. Woe to them...
