Southern Baptist president to call for repentance, training videos amid sexual abuse crisis
Southern Baptist Convention President J.D. Greear will call on churches to reexamine ordination processes and "repent for a decade of inaction" on sexual abuse when he speaks to SBC leaders Monday night.

"We must repent of appealing to autonomy as a cover up for lack of accountability. We believe in autonomous churches, but we cannot practice that in a way that allows safe harbor for predators" Greear said in a comment to the Chronicle.

Why We Left the Southern Baptist Convention
by Charles Dunn . . continued

"These are a few of the questions that confronted us when we broke from the SBC.

First, is the president of the Sunday School Board of the Southern Baptist Convention right when he states that the Bible contains the Word of God rather than the Bible is the Word of God? He says: "We believe that the translations of the Bible we have today contain God's holy and inspired message to us" (letter of Grady C. Cothen to Mrs. Glen D. O'Dell dated February 5, 1976).

For years Neo-orthodox theologians have been trying to spread the idea that the Bible only contains the Word of God, thereby leaving man free to question the truthfulness of portions of Scripture. If I can say that a part of the Bible is not the Word of God, then I need not obey that which I do not consider to be God's Word. This would be like handing a person a glass of clear water mixed with dirt and asking him to drink only the clear water. Just as clear water mixed with dirt ceases to be clear water, so truth mixed with error ceases to be truth."

Why We Left the Southern Baptist Convention
by Charles Dunn
http://www.adherents.com/largecom/baptist_SBC_Dunn.html

If ever anyone had compelling reasons to stay in the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), I did. I was the chairman of deacons, the State Brotherhood Secretary, the teacher of a Sunday school class averaging 150 persons per Sunday, an active lay preacher in dozens of Southern Baptist churches, and a finalist at the age of 35 for the presidency of a leading Southern Baptist university. My wife was saved in a Southern Baptist church, worked diligently as an officer in the Baptist Student Union at Florida State University, and served as a summer missionary with the SBC's Home Mission Board.
For a while we thought that trying to reverse the liberal theological trends within the SBC was biblical and that we could avoid the support of liberalism by designating our tithes and offerings rather than giving generally through the Cooperative Program.

Ultimately, however, we had to make the choice. Would we obey God or men? Since leaving the SBC several years ago, we have enjoyed the blessings of God on us and our four children in ways we could never have imagined. Our decision was not easy, but it was biblical. We have no regrets, only rejoicing.

Re: SBC Clergy Abuse - late breaking News . .

Pastor seeks forgiveness for letting alleged sex abuser stay on staff
March 08, 2019 / The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Just a few weeks after his church was removed from a Southern Baptist Convention watchlist, the pastor of a Turner County church apologized Thursday for not earlier removing a staffer who allegedly abused several children at another Georgia church.

The Rev. Rodney Brown, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Ashburn, asked for forgiveness from the victims and the Southern Baptist Convention in a statement published by the Christian Index, the publication of the Georgia Baptist Mission Board.

“Recently I have come to realize that I failed my duty as pastor in not taking action against an individual who had been accused of child abuse in the past at another church,” the statement read. “This was because of my long-standing friendship with the accused.

“Other victims have now come forward naming this person and he has admitted to assaulting several young people many years ago. I now realize that what I first thought was an isolated incident was much more. I should have understood that earlier and not doing so was a great mistake on my part. I cannot apologize enough for my actions.”

A brazen attack on Christ's church emanated from none other than SBC's most celebrated & well-acclaimed members . . the late Billy Graham

Article: The Untold Story Behind Billy Graham

Decisions Into the Hands of Rome
It is known that the Billy Graham Crusade send many of their “decisions” to Catholic organizations. Is this of the Jesuitical loyalty Graham has sworn? It has been reported that many of the “decisions” have been lost to the Catholic organizations and to the doctrine of Catholicism.
According to a report, the decision cards are not sent to Bible-believing churches in most cases. Many of the cards signed out are sent to Liberal churches in the community. In 1952 the Pittsburgh Sun-Telegraph reported that Graham’s in his own words said,
"Many of the people who reach a decision for Christ at our meetings have joined the Catholic Church and we have received commendations from Catholic publications for the revived interest in their Church following our campaigns. This happened both in Boston and Washington. After all, one of our prime purposes is to help the churches in a community. If after we move on, the local churches do not feel the efforts of these meetings in increased membership and attendance, then our crusade would have to be considered a failure."

You forgot the word "sinner" in your line up.
Or are you afraid to admit that?

Now before we continue with any more of this 'hero worship' lets remind ourselves of some home truths.

Quote;
"I know it is one of the hardest things in the world to realise the sinfulness of sin. To say we are all sinners is one thing; to have an idea what Sin must be in the sight of God is quite another. Sin is too much part of ourselves to allow us to see it as it is: we do not feel our own moral deformity. We are like those animals in creation which are vile and loathsome to our senses, but are not so to themselves, nor yet to one another: their
loathsomeness is their nature, and they do not perceive it. Just in the same way our
corruption is part and parcel of ourselves, and, at our best, we have but a feeble comprehension of its intensity." (J.C.Ryle)

As the article alludes, 'Repentance' is the solution Christ Jesus guides us to seek.

Not a constant attack on the church.
Satan has already dealt with that!!

A Voice for victims of sexual abuse her detractors could not silence . .

Mar 6, 2019 / Tyndale House Publishers
Rachael Denhollander

“What Is a Girl Worth? will be one of the most important books to come out of 2019,” said Sarah Atkinson, associate publisher. “Rachael is the voice our culture needs right now on how to support survivors, create communities that are safe for the vulnerable and unsafe for predators, and do unimaginably hard things with integrity, courage, and faith. The impact of abuse is immeasurable and the cost of speaking out is high, but Rachael is fearlessly sharing her experience to help others. She is one of my heroes, and it is a privilege to be entrusted with her story.”

What Is a Girl Worth? will disclose the untold story of the systemic abuse that was reported and ignored for years. It will detail the system that looked the other way and refused to listen to and protect abuse victims. Denhollander will reveal the crushing impact that this abuse has had on her life; trace her journey in harnessing the courage to speak out against such abuse—both for herself and on behalf of abuse victims everywhere; and illuminate the path to a better way forward.

Good Morning, Ladybug...I've been wondering the same. June refuses to respond to anyone, which is what I always find strange, but I've been wondering what the reason is for the concentration as well, at this level of copying and pasting, anyway. I can understand if June is a victim, or the headline hits close to home in some way, but aside from that, I don't understand the mission.

"Repentance Necessity Of.

"This is discovered by a contemplation of the law, for “by the law is the knowledge of sin” (Rom. 3:20). Where there is no enforcing and expounding of the holy law of God there can be no true, deep, saving knowledge of sin; as the apostle Paul so plainly affirms, “I had not known sin, but by the law” (Rom. 7:7). The exceeding sinfulness of sin (Rom. 7:13) is only exposed when the Spirit turns the light of God's law upon our conscience and heart. But this is preeminently an age of lawlessness, and that in every respect. And it cannot be otherwise: where the law of God is flouted, where thousands of preachers are declaring that the law has no place in this dispensation of grace, we cannot expect people to have much respect for human law. God has caused the people to reap that which they have sown: having sown the wind, they are now reaping the whirlwind. Bolshevism and anarchy are the inevitable rebound from having slighted and rejected the Ten Commandments! " (A. Pink)

Rachael Denhollander: Abused US gymnast receives standing ovation in court after judge's tribute to her courage

Thursday 25 January 2018

The first gymnast to come forward with sexual assault allegations against disgraced doctor Larry Nassar has received a standing ovation in court after the judge in the case delivered a moving tribute to her courage.
Judge Rosemarie Aquilina told Nassar on Wednesday he would spend up to 175 years in jail — on top of a 60-year sentence he received earlier for child pornography charges.

In response to her testimony, Judge Aquilina said: "I want you to know that your words are the right words — you didn't just build a file, you built an army of survivors and you are a five-star general.
"Your demands for accountability and change are happening. Your words, your army, tells the world that these girls ... are worth something, that they have a voice."
She later added: "You started a tidal wave. You made all of this happen. You made all of these voices matter. Your sister survivors and I thank you. You are the bravest person I have ever had in my courtroom."

June,

You are well over 30 comments on this thread. What is strange is this - on this thread concerning the SAME allegations - sex abuse within the RCC- you have ONE comment and that comment blames Protestants for the ecumenism of Rome - https://www.sermonaudio.com/new_details.asp?ID=51354
You don't even address the sex abuse of the RCC, yet here on this thread you are livid about standing in solidarity against the SBC, a Protestant denomination.
So my question to you is this, what is your motive? Why are you adamant about sex abuse within a Protestant denomination yet you barely give a whimper concerning sex abuse within the RCC?

First Satan puts the demon of abuse in the church. Then Satan's servant the media blasts it into a fallen world to further seek to attack and destroy the church.

How does Satan's feminism couple with his evil work to destroy the church? Clearly there is an associate ideology in their aspirations.

GOD teaches:
Gen 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee."

GOD teaches:-
1Tim 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression."

What Is a Girl Worth?

My Story of Breaking the Silence and Exposing the Truth about Larry Nassar and USA Gymnastics

Recipient of Sports Illustrated’s Inspiration of the Year Award and one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People (2018)

“Who is going to tell these little girls that what was done to them matters? That they are seen and valued, that they are not alone and they are not unprotected?”

What Is a Girl Worth? is the inspiring true story of Rachael’s journey from an idealistic young gymnast to a strong and determined woman who found the courage to raise her voice against evil, even when she thought the world might not listen. This deeply personal and compelling narrative shines a spotlight on the physical and emotional impact of abuse, why so many survivors are reluctant to speak out, what it means to be believed, the extraordinary power of faith and forgiveness, and how we can learn to do what’s right in the moments that matter most.

"EVANGELICAL REPENTANCE is ... a gracious principle and habit implanted in the soul by the Spirit of Christ, in the exercise of which a regenerate and believing sinner, deeply sensible of the exceeding sinfulness and just demerit of his innumerable sins is truly humbled and grieved before the Lord, on account of the sinfulness and hurtfulness of them. He feels bitter remorse, unfeigned sorrow, and deep self-abhorrence for the aggravated transgressions of his life, and the deep depravity of his nature; chiefly, because by all his innumerable provocations he has dishonoured an infinitely holy and gracious God, transgressed a law which is "holy, and just, and good," and defiled, deformed, and even destroyed his own precious soul. This godly sorrow for sin and this holy abhorrence of it arise from a spiritual discovery of pardoning mercy with God in Christ, and from the exercise of trusting in His mercy. And these are always accompanied by an unfeigned love of universal holiness, and by fixed resolutions and endeavours to turn from all iniquity to God and to walk before him in newness of life. Such, in general is the nature of that evangelical repentance, to the habit and exercise of which the Lord Jesus calls sinners who hear the Gospel."

Rachael Denhollander - in her own words:

My Larry Nassar Testimony Went Viral. But There’s More to the Gospel Than Forgiveness.
Former gymnast Rachael Denhollander spent years discovering God’s perspective on sexual abuse. Then her advocacy for survivors cost her her church.
Excerpt:
In an interview with Christianity Today, Denhollander shared more details about her break with her church community, how poor theology causes many churches to poorly care for sex abuse victims, how she found God’s perspective on sexual abuse in Scripture, and about her convictions that forgiveness and justice are both biblical and must go hand in hand.

In your impact statement, you mention that it took you a long time to reveal your own abuse with other people. Was church included in that?

"Yes. Church is one of the least safe places to acknowledge abuse because the way it is counseled is, more often than not, damaging to the victim. There is an abhorrent lack of knowledge for the damage and devastation that sexual assault brings. It is with deep regret that I say the church is one of the worst places to go for help. That’s a hard thing to say, because I am a very conservative evangelical, but that is the truth. There are very, very few who have ever found true help in the church."
