Virginia gov. who defended infanticide lectures Republicans about being ‘civil’

Virginia Democrats have rushed into damage control mode as their comments about abortion during birth and infanticide continue to generate massive backlash.

On Thursday, Gov. Ralph Northam held a press conference with Democratic leadership during which he suggested Republicans have been uncivil in the wake of his comments about fellow Democrat Del. Kathy Tran’s abortion-through-birth bill. Tran had admitted that her now-defeated bill would have allowed abortion even as a mother was “dilating” and going into labor.

“We can agree to disagree on this topic, but we can be civil about it,” he claimed. “As a doctor who has counseled parents of sick children in the hospice, as someone who has given women and families some of the worst news on the worst day of their lives, to play politics with that is just not who we are as Virginians.”

Northam is a former pediatric neurologist. ...

Well Jim, what I was trying to say is those who twist the word of God to allow for the targeting of an infant in the womb at any stage or for any reason is guilty of infanticide. Or murder if you like.

"When the life of the mother is truly threatened by her pregnancy, if both lives cannot simultaneously be saved, then saving the mother’s life must be the primary aim. If through our careful treatment of the mother’s illness the pre-born patient inadvertently dies or is injured, this is tragic and, if unintentional, is not unethical and is consistent with the pro-life ethic. But the intentional killing of an unborn baby by abortion is never necessary."

1 Timothy 1:9 understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, 10 the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,---ESV

Yes, present-day evangelicals have forgotten what Christianity is all about, and certainly can't be supporting many in the Republican Party either

Here are some good examples of how societal pressures and mores have led to the dilution of Christ’s church resulting in compromising even the basic principles of biblical morality. Feminism is no longer even argued, but the argument is now with radical feminism; homosexuality is no longer argued, but the bar has been lowered to gay marriage; abortion as de facto murder is seldom noted, but now the bar has been lowered to debating reasons for abortions or for partial birth abortions; the illogical unscientific concept of evolution is largely accepted with the bar being lowered to theistic evolution; divorce is tolerated to the point where there are no consequences either in our pulpits or in our congregations; saving sex for marriage is ridiculed and the bar has been lowered to a level that I can’t even define and the list could go on and on and on and on ad infinitum.

The common thread that runs through this short list of compromises is that when something becomes legal and/or intellectually or morally acceptable to the “world”, then the church abandons the strict narrow positions of scripture and simply lowers the bar or eliminates the bar altogether.

It is all infanticide!

WFP, the Virginia legislative branches trying to figure out if the guy's nuts enough to impeach. The Democrats definitely want him gone.

Isn’t this the same governor who first apologized for being in black face in a photo, then said, no that wasn’t me, but wait, I did do a performance by that dancer...umm, yeah, Michael Jackson, that’s who I was, oh, boy. Let’s see if the good neurologist is mentally stable for the job of governor.

NPR wrote:
Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax is a lot of things Virginia's current governor is not: young, charismatic and part of a multicultural wave sweeping through the commonwealth's Democratic party.

He could soon be called upon to lead the state, should Gov. Ralph Northam, a fellow Democrat, reverse course and adhere to the avalanche of calls – from inside and outside of Virginia — for him to resign.

If that happens, Fairfax would only be the second African-American governor to serve in the history of Virginia, and one of just a few across the country since reconstruction.
