When Asia Bibi‚Äôs death sentence and conviction for ‚Äúblaspheming‚ÄĚ Islam and its prophet were overturned by the Pakistani Supreme Court ‚ÄĒ releasing her from prison after eight years ‚ÄĒ her problems were not over.
Radical Muslims took to the streets in protest of the Oct. 31 decision, and some searched house-to-house to carry out what they viewed as unfulfilled justice under Islamic law.
Consequently, Bibi had been forced to live under the ‚Äúprotective custody‚ÄĚ of Pakistani authorities since her release from prison in November.
Now, Bibi has arrived in Canada with her husband, her lawyer told the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine early Friday.
I am not too sure how safe Asia Bibi will be in politically correct Canada, with Justin Trudeau’s policy of unlimited Islamic immigration and allowing for sharia law to be implemented in certain Muslim majority areas in Canada, though I notice that he has recently quarrelled with Saudi Arabia over the Khashoggi murder.
I am deeply saddened that in President Trump’s USA, a place could not have been found for her in some anonymous rural area, as I know most of the big cities have huge Islamic populations, and the US Department of State is always afraid of offending the Muslims.
As for my own country of Britain, I am disgusted but not surprised at the cowardly attitude of our ‚Äúliberal‚ÄĚ Conservative Government, and most particularly, not so much our Home Office, but our infamous pro-Muslim Foreign Office, which has a great fear of upsetting the Muslims. This has always been the case no matter which party formed our government.
This blasphemy law, which is just an excuse for Muslims to settle scores with their Christian neighbours and employees, is an absolute scandal, and Pakistan should be made to face up to its obligations under international law, and not be allowed to let lawless Islamic mobs to rule the country.
