Democrats keep pro-LGBT Jesuit as chaplain of US House

A Catholic priest who once earned the ire of former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan will retain his post as chaplain of the U.S. House of Representatives after members of Congress, with Democrats now holding a majority of seats, voted January 3 to keep Fr. Patrick J. Conroy SJ as chaplain for the next two years as the 116th session began.

According to House rules, the 68-year-old Conroy’s only specified duty is to “offer a prayer at the commencement of each day’s sitting of the House.” However, he is known to offer counsel to the House members, regardless of affiliation. His nondenominational prayer is broadcast live on and on C-Span, and is also kept on file by the Congressional Record. The prayer is incorporated in the official rules of the House to commence business.

In 2017, Conroy fell afoul of Republican leaders in Congress. On November 6 of that year, Conroy offered a prayer ...

Well, 'Adriel,' since you asked who voted for the Dems, it looks like most people in the USA voted for Democrats.
1. Republicans in the House are not 100 percent behind President Trump, and many of them would rather retire than continue with him.
1a. Where were their replacements? Did the GOP have good people ready to take over? So there you can say is a failure of the party. Why that failure? Maybe the GOP is not totally behind the President.
2. Demographic changes: urban areas are growing, and Dems usually do well in those areas. After the 2016 election, did you see the US map by county that showed how many counties were won by Trump? There were many of them, but mostly in the country and less populated areas.
3. Media changes: Dems control Hollywood, TV, and the major news networks (well, not one--but people who are 'in love' with the others refuse to watch Fox), so the Only Message most people get is negative for any Republican ideas.
3a. there is no room for debate. A rogue poster here posted about love, but is it love to let people do something with their bodies that is contrary to what God has designed them for?

""Democrats now holding a majority of seats, voted January 3 to keep Fr. Patrick J. Conroy SJ as chaplain for the next two years""

Which illustrates where Democrats are in relation to Bible and Christian teaching.

Retaining a Jesuit who accepts the sodomite agenda demonstrates the anti-Christian, Anti-Bible, antichrist ideology of the Liberalist socialist Democrats.

I guess the politics and policies of Democrats take you to hell.

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

Wow! Who would vote for that?

Jim can’t understand why it’s fair for a man to get rich by working hard and investing wisely while he (Jim) and others don’t grow equally rich by sitting on their butts and complaining.

Yes. I think Jim agrees with Catholic Social Teaching, a redistributionist agenda largely the same as Democrats' except on abortion. Jesuits are the most ardent promoters of it. Recall US Bishops' support for Obamacare.

Catholic Catechism ¶2406:
"Political authority has the right and duty to regulate the legitimate exercise of the right to ownership for the sake of the common good."
Socialism in a nutshell. Think of Naboth's Vineyard.

Exercise for the reader: Study this masterpiece of subtle falsehood:

Well, 'elections have consequences' so this is just a Little Reminder to all Christians who did not want to get involved in politics so they did not vote, nor run for office.

Jim Lincoln wrote:

Our own socialist here at SA. There is more than adequate proof that the rich are paying way more than their fair share of tax burden. From the WSJ

"For 2018, households in the top 20% will have income of about $150,000 or more and 52% of total income, about the same as in 2017. But they will pay about 87% of income taxes, up from about 84% last year. By contrast, the lower 60% of households, who have income up to about $86,000, receive about 27% of income."

But Jimbo thinks it should be confiscated at a higher rate and redistributed to “less fortunate”. Annoyed that people can keep more of their own money instead of it being confiscated by the government, very telling. It is a big duh, if you pay $1000 in taxes and I pay a million my tax cut is worth more.

In all your internet searches and “research” Jim do one on the 8th commandment.

I had to laugh, a prime candidate indeed.
I believe that the government shutdown and subsequent furloughed employees will seek employment elsewhere, thus in the mind of defenders of DJT , will think “ that is one way to drain a swamp “.

Patrick Conroy SJ, should have spelled it out for Paul Ryan in the beginning, but Ryan seem to have gotten it.

1 Corinthians 5:11
But as it is, I wrote to you not to associate with anyone who is called a brother who is a sexual sinner, or covetous, or an idolater, or a slanderer, or a drunkard, or an extortionist. Don’t even eat with such a person.

Of course Paul Ryan push they tax plan that was beneficial to multi-millionaires like him

While Democrats obviously don't have a problem with them sexual stances this Jesuit, neither did or do the Republicans of Congress.

This fellow would be a prime candidate for a government layoff, so why wasn't he?
