Boycott-hit Chick-fil-A flying high in fast-food rankings
There‚Äôs a web page called, ‚ÄúThese are the Best Reasons to Hate Chick-fil-A,‚ÄĚ and there‚Äôs even a ‚ÄúBoycott Chick-fil-A‚ÄĚ page on Facebook, which of course isn‚Äôt hate speech because it opposes a Christian perspective.
But social media was alight on Tuesday with word that, according to a report in the New York Post, the company was ‚Äúon track to become No. 3 fast-food chain in the U.S.‚ÄĚ
‚ÄúBoycotts WORK (just not the way they WANT them to): Awesome news about Chick-fil-A triggers Lefties and it‚Äôs DELICIOUS,‚ÄĚ said a commentary at Twitchy.
The Post quoted Kalinowski Equity Research in reporting the chicken-sandwich franchise is poised to become No. 3 by next year in sales, replacing Subway.
Jim, your source is correct that Chick fil A does do a lot of charity work. But they have been doing this for years. The work they are doing is not in response to a need to "rebrand" themselves. As Conner7 points out, this is part and parcel of their Christian identity. And a Christian identity is not a political statement but a stance (imperfectly due to the Fall) how the Lord says to live. There is a difference worth exploring, Jim.
Thanks for the inside view, Conner7. Keep up the good work! My family & I love Chick fil A. Jim, we recommend you be one of the first in line when they open.
Went to some lengths explaining the Chick-fil-A did do a lot of charitable work, etc. Naturally, I can't quote the whole article. The author had a positive you of Chick-fil-A.
I would point out this comment from Business Insider:
Hayley Peterson wrote: ...These days, Chick-fil-A is warning all its franchisees against speaking out publicly or getting involved in anything that could blur the line between their private beliefs and their public roles as extensions of the Chick-fil-A brand, the company has said.
Last year, that message extended to politics, in part to keep the brand from being exploited by candidates. The company turned down several candidates who tried to use Chick-fil-A to bolster their campaigns, according to David Farmer, Chick-fil-A's vice president of menu strategy and development....

The above article has one up obnoxious picture in it, so be warned.
Since they are building a Chick-fil-A restaurant pretty close to me we're going to have to try it out.
During the holiday season, we have hymns such as ‚ÄúO holy night‚ÄĚ and ‚ÄúHark the Harold angels sing‚ÄĚ but we also have classical music such as ‚ÄúDance of the Sugar Plumb Fairy‚ÄĚ and I think even ‚ÄúCannon in D‚ÄĚ
But outside of the holiday season, we usually have ‚ÄúNothing but the blood‚ÄĚ ‚ÄúI can only imagine‚ÄĚ and other hymns.
So there’s a mixture between the hymns and classical music.
Glad to hear that, Conner7. We've been in restaurants in other parts of the nation, particularly new or newly remodeled, and that picture has been cropped to remove the signatures. That's my only observation. Our child quickly recognizes the Christian contemporary music played instrumentally although one restaurant (new construction) was playing classical music instead once.
It would be interesting to see a map of all Chick-fil-A locations and overlap that with all the counties (or parishes in Louisiana) that voted for Trump in 2016. I think there would be a lot of overlap, and this would show you that the USA is a very divided country, even down to the detail of fast-food restaurants. I think there is not a single Chick-fil-A in New York City, San Francisco, nor the entire state of Vermont (also home to 0 Walmarts).
And this would show you that the boycotts will not have much impact--those who are convinced the company is pure evil will continue to think this, and those who eat there are 'deplorable' or 'wacko-birds.'
You have one group watching and believing every word that comes out of CNN, MSNBC, the Washington Post, New York Times, LA Times, etc. and the other group looks to Fox News for the truth. Now is a good time to see this in action in your own life if you are hosting family from the Other Side. A friend told me that he visited his brother a while back and his wife only allowed him to change the TV to Fox News but would leave the room while it was on. (I guess if they had an FGM operation on a 9-yr old girl on a travel channel, to show Muslim cultural traditions, she would be glue
@The Quiet Christian, the Chick Fil A I go to has the picture with Bible verses on it, one from...Ezra 7:10
‚ÄúEzra 7:10 KJV For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord , and to do it , and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.‚ÄĚ
and another from Deut. 6:5
‚ÄúDeuteronomy 6:5 KJV And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.‚ÄĚ
I might add that my fellow coworkers talk about Christianity daily (yes, while working) and when I was in orientation, the instructor taught us the proper meaning of going the ‚Äú2nd mile‚ÄĚ We also still don‚Äôt work on Sundays...and that‚Äôs in California ūüėĪūüôÄ
But the problem with your source, Jim, is that Chick fil A always did those things your source calls "rebranding." It is also interesting to note how one feels about an issue is a matter of fact of "politics," not conscience or moral conviction or even a religious conviction.
That said, as I have posted in the past, it does seem that the company has toned down their Christian identity. I haven't seen the family photo with the signatures and Bible verses for a while. Might be the restaurants we've visited.
From a (probable) liberal college student who more or less supports Chick-fil-A
Kyle Danielson wrote: .... I think it’s important to say Cathy has since acknowledged that incorporating his political views into Chick-fil-A’s public image was a mistake and has kept quiet about the issue since 2014. The company has attempted rebranding to get away from this intolerant image and more toward accepting all walks of life to win over the hearts of those offended by Cathy’s past statements. Some examples of this rebranding are the companies excellent customer service, along with the extensive work they do to help communities around the country....

I think he makes an obvious point that his fellow students should go to the Student Union and try out Chick-fil-A.
