Inventor of the Web Prepares to Launch Web 3.0, Predicts Privacy Revolution
The inventor of the World Wide Web, Sir Tim Berners-Lee (shown), believes that “the web has evolved into an engine of inequity and division; swayed by powerful forces who use it for their own agendas.” To correct that and “restore the power and agency of individuals on the web,” Berners-Lee is preparing to re-invent the web.
Due to the growing prevalence of the twin evils of data-mining and data-manipulation, the web — created to be a free and open platform — has instead become a place where users find themselves robbed of both their privacy and easy access to reliable information on which they could base sound decisions. Take as just one example, the Cambridge Analytica breach of Facebook last year. By the time the dust settled and the smoke cleared, at least 50 million (and possibly as many as 87 million) users had their data harvested and used to manipulate their (and their friends’) votes in...
Berners-Lee, like many brilliant humanists, is naĂŻve: 1) As the JBS writer mentions, most governments are republics or parliamentarian, not democracies; 2) Science cannot tell us what to believe since it's logically fallacious and constantly changes. And scientists often have a Conflict of Interest; 3) Godless signatories to such a "Contract for the Web" would not keep good faith, but evade it with legerdemain, as they don't believe violating the 3rd Commandment is a sin. Look at the track record of avowed Christians (e.g., apostate seminary professors who swore to abide by a Statement of Faith or Confession).
And does he really think that before the Web, journalists had integrity?
Here is an example of “lies” Trump told per the site from Jim
“More Americans are working today than ever before in the history of our country.” Repeated 5 times Aug 31, 2018Aug 23Aug 13Aug 7Aug 4 Topic: Jobs Source: Remarks Full story Of course there are more Americans working. That’s because there are more Americans today than ever before
Said 5x per Washington Post site. So, even though they admit that the statement is TRUE, they are counting it as 5 lies because in their opinion it is no big deal.
Population hasn’t gone up that astronomically in 2 years and under Obama we had record number of people NOT working. More liberal idiocy that shouldn’t be posted on a Christian site.
Timothy! You are being much too modest about the lack of veracity for Republicans For example, the head Republican-- https://tinyurl.com/yc96e5o5 (In 649 days, President Trump has made 6,420 false or misleading claims)
